Demi Lovato is in London this week for a special gig on Friday night and while she’s in the country, Simon Cowell bagged her for a live Britain’s Got Talent performance.
The former Disney star is of course close friends with the music mogul and saw him only last week, as they began judging the new series of X Factor USA in Charleston.
Earlier today, Lovato revealed that she was struggling with jet lag before her performance on the popular ITV show and told her followers:
“Gonna try to fall asleep now so I can dream sweet dreams.. Cause jet-lag suuuucks!!! Haha.. Te amo mucho.. ūüíč‚̧ūüėä”
However, the brunette beauty looked primed and ready to go when she took to the stage for the BGT results show to perform her new song Heart Attack.
In Demi’s native US, the single sold over 215,000 units in its first week and currently holds the third-highest opening-week sales figure of 2013, just behind Justin Timberlake’s “Suit & Tie” and Ariana Grande’s “The Way”.
Because of international airplay, the lead single from Lovato’s upcoming fourth studio album became a top twenty hit in Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Norway, Ukraine and here in the UK shortly after.
The live performance wasn’t quite as top notch as Jennifer Lopez’s offering on Tuesday, however Demi definitely looked every part the star in her black skin tight trousers, embellished top and blazer combo and she was certainly less raunchy than J Lo. OFCOM will thankfully get a night off.
The judges enjoyed the performance and gave the young US star a standing ovation and speaking to Ant and Dec afterwards Demi revealed that The Luminites had been her favourite act of the night, adding:
“They will go far. I want them for the American show.”
