Cher Lloyd put Cheryl Cole row behind her and shone in Jessie J purple catsuit at Brit Awards 2012

Cher Lloyd was nominated for any words at last night’s Brit Awards ceremony, but that didn’t stop the young star from donning the best outfit we’ve seen on her in a while, for the red carpet walk into the event.

Arriving at London’s O2 Arena, the X Factor star put her recent row with former mentor Cheryl Cole behind her as she stepped out in a figure hugging Jessie J style purple shiny bodysuit, teamed with HUGE Christian Louboutin Asteroid Spike heels.

It was a little 70s and actually quite garish, but the 19 year old singer pulled the look off and managed to look quite sophisticated and less teenage than usual.

To complete her look, Lloyd cropped her hair back in a tight and high ponytail and opted for heavy makeup and black smoky eyes. She was also careful to show off her engagement ring, after recently accepting her boyfriend Craig Monk’s proposal of marriage.

The Swagger Jagger hitmaker loved every minute of last night’s event and took to Twitter to congratulate her friends One Direction, after they picked up their first award.

Cher has had a tough month in terms of PR – what’s new eh? – as she managed to start a feud with much loved Cheryl Cole, when she claimed that her former mentor couldn’t sing live and required autotune technology to get through live performances. After the Girls Aloud star lashed back on Twitter, Lloyd did issue an apology. She later admitted that starring on The X Factor changed her and made her into a bit of a ‘brat’. You don’t say!
