Cheryl and Ashley Cole have been granted their quickie divorce.

It was reported this morning that the couple’s case, listed using their initials ‘CAC v AC’, would top the list of 29 divorces to be heard in the London High Court at 10am.

Just minutes ago, BBC News reported that the pair’s decree nisi was granted by District Judge Christopher Simmonds, on the grounds of Ashley’s admitted unreasonable behaviour. Neither star was present in the court room.

If there are no objections to the ruling, the preliminary divorce order could be finalised within weeks.

On Cheryl’s reaction to the news, a source told The Sun:

“Cheryl is in the States but is watching things very closely. She is relieved and pleased things have progressed significantly since her illness.

“She just wants to move on with her life and getting the divorce done will end a very painful chapter.”
