X Factor winner Alexandra Burke has revealed that it was Cheryl Cole who convinced Simon Cowell to allow her to get her own puppy.

The 21 year old ‘All Night Long’ singer admitted in an interview that Cheryl had originally told Cowell that a dog would be too much for her to handle, but then rethought her advice at a later date.

Alex told Capital FM’s Rich & Kat Cheryl show: ‘Yeah, he did say that after Cheryl persuaded him.’

‘The thing is he was the one who was going to buy me a dog in the first place and then Cheryl told him not to and now I’ve got one.’

She adds: ‘I know for a fact that Simon is going to look after him. He’s going to help me!’
