Cheryl Cole couldn’t do The Voice – releases teaser for ‘Call My Name’ (VIDEO)

Cheryl Cole has admitted that she was never asked to judge on The Voice, despite all the press reports and she was glad not to be involved.

After the former Girls Aloud singer was sacked from The X Factor USA last year, it was widely reported that the BBC tried to poach her for their new talent series, as a way of getting up Simon Cowell’s nose.

However, it seems that they aren’t willing to stoop quite as low as the music mogul – who later did poach Alesha Dixon away from Strictly Come Dancing for the Britain’s Got Talent panel – as Chez claims she was never asked to coach on the reality TV series.

Speaking on Radio One today, Cole explained:

“I wasn’t asked to do The Voice.”

She went on to explain that she couldn’t have sat on the panel of the new show anyway, as the tension and pressure would be too much for her. The ‘Promise This’ hitmaker added:

“I couldn’t do it – to be honest that battle scene freaks me out. Watching them getting in each other’s faces gives me anxiety.”

“Putting two people I’d chosen to battle against each other, I couldn’t do it.”

We know that Cheryl watches The Voice and that she enjoyed the Battle Rounds, as she admitted on Twitter last week that she was loving all the drama on stage. She tweeted:

“I seriously cannot handle this. I don’t think my heart can take much more of this battle business … everyone is so talented. #thevoiceuk is giving me anxiety lol.”

“How do you choose ?? :/ #thevoiceuk”

Cole of course is managed by will.i.am and is loving watching him and his new colleagues every weekend. She added:

“Will is amazing – lots of my friends are always saying ‘I didn’t know he was like this’, but to me he’s just Will.

“I love Jessie, Tom is sharp and Danny is really sweet.”

Meanwhile, Cheryl also premiered a teaser of the new music video for her latest single ‘Call My Name’. The single will be released this June and will be the lead track from her third solo album ‘A Million Lights’ due a few weeks later.

The full video will debut on Vevo on May 2.

Cheryl is throwing herself into her work at the minute, because she hasn’t got much going on in her love life.

Speaking to Chris Moyles this morning the blonde beauty admitted:

“My love life doesn’t exist. I’m not interested right now – I’m too busy doing my record.”
