Cheryl Cole is reportedly devastated that her estranged husband Ashley may be moving to Madrid next year.

The Chelsea player is said to be considering a move to the Spanish football team Real Madrid and Spain’s World Cup winning goalkeeper Iker Casillas recently told The Sun:

“It will be his last big contract and who better to sign for”.

“From what I am hearing the signs look good.”

However, one person not pleased about Ashley’s career development is his wife Cheryl. The pair may be in the middle of finalising their divorce, but the X Factor judge is said to be distraught by the thought of him leaving the country.

A source told Now magazine:

‘She’s got wind of the fact that talks about Ashley moving to Spain by 
as early as January to play for Real Madrid are taking place.’

‘Despite their relationship being completely over, the idea that Ashley will no longer be around has made it really final and hit her hard. The relationship may be over but Cheryl never intended to cut off ties for good 
or totally shut the door.’

On their divorce, the friend added that Cheryl’s recent bout of malaria has delayed proceedings quite considerably.


‘The divorce has been progressing but Cheryl’s due to read through and sign a couple of forms and she hasn’t done so yet,’ the insider said.

‘Ashley also stalled proceedings during the World Cup but then signed documents before he 
went to LA on holiday.

‘There’s 
a six-week wait where neither side can do anything and they can’t accelerate that period. 
But they’re not even in that 
phase at the moment.’
