Friends of Cheryl Cole have claimed that her recent marriage breakup may give her the impetus to forge a career for herself in America.

It’s no secret that Simon Cowell has been trying to export Cheryl to the States for months now, but her husband’s successful UK football career always held her back. Sources close to her think that may be abut to change.

A friend told The Mirror:

“This will give her the impetus she needed. She has always put Ashley’s career first which is why she was torn about America.

“Now she can start afresh, commit to her recording career over there and, of course, really give US X Factor a go. In a strange way, this terrible episode could be the making of her.”
