Cheryl Cole proposes to Kimberley Walsh to celebrate same sex marriage vote!

Cheryl Cole has caused quite a stir on Twitter this week, and all in the name of gay marriage and equal rights.

The former X Factor judge is seemingly over the moon about MPs’ decision to back same sex marriage and when it was revealed that The Commons voted in favour of the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill, by 400 to 175, a majority of 225, she celebrated by proposing to her BFF Kimberley Walsh.

The ‘Under The Sun’ hitmaker made the funny proposal online yesterday, when she tweeted the Strictly Come Dancing star, saying:

“@kimberleyjwalsh !!! Marry me???”

Fans appreciated the sentiment and 1,494 of her followers retweeted the message, with the post and 1,273 hitting Favourite.

Kimba replied: “Lmjao…what have you started”

830 of her followers retweeted this, with 635 favouriting the post.

Other stars who supported the result included Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg, who tweeted:

“No matter who you are and who you love, we are all equal. #equalmarriage”

Russell Tovey wrote:

“Thank you @DavidLammy… An incredible inspiring and wonderfully clarifying speech… #equalmarriage x”

Richard Branson posted:

“Fantastic that UK MPs voted the #EqualMarriage bill through. Next steps: committee stages & Lords, so we must #KeepLobbying @Out4Marriage”

While Rylan Clark said:

“Now whoever is in love with someone can show that love with marriage regardless of their sexuality. Finally x #EqualMarriage”

We don’t know if Cheryl got abuse from some fans over her message, but someone’s clearly been getting up her nose, as she followed her message to Kim with the tweets:

“Hey let me help you off that horse! It seems pretty high!!”

“🐎 #getoffyourhighhorse #surleyyourasshurts you’ve been up there a while!!!”
