Cheryl Cole shares old X Factor pic… what does it mean?

Cheryl Cole has fanned the fires of the rumour mill once again, by sharing a rather old picture of herself on Instagram.

The big reality TV story of the week is that the Girls Aloud star is heading back to the X Factor, in a bid to save the show from falling ratings and even diminishing audience share.

Simon Cowell revealed yesterday that he was keen to have her back by his side – after he confirmed his own return to the UK series – and he told reporters that his dream is to bring the talent show back to it’s 2010 hey day when Matt Cardle won, One Direction were discovered and Cher Lloyd hit the headlines….not always for the right reasons.

Insiders reported this month that Cole was on the brink of signing up for the ITV show but had a number of conditions. She was said to be pushing for a ‘no gag’ clause in her contract and a large pay-rise, in comparison to her last fee.

After Cowell humiliated the brunette beauty when he sacked her from his US show in 2011, we’d say it’s the least he can do.

This morning Cheryl was either hinting that the rumours or true, or just simply playing with us when she shared this old picture on her Instagram account:

The shot shows the Promise This hitmaker sitting at the X Factor judges table with Simon, looking less than pleased as she points a finger at his face.

Fans were quick to jump to conclusions and comments on the photo include:

“Omg this means @ladyccole is going back on the xfactor! 😱😏😘 @roseeh27”

“l loved you on the xfactor is this a hint your coming back”

“😂😂😂😂👏 your banter was my fave!!”

“You hinting at us Cheryl???????”

“Lol go back on the show”

It was reported this morning that Nicole Scherzinger will NOT be joining Cheryl, Simon and Louis Walsh on the X Factor panel this year.

A supposedly well informed insider told The Sun that the star is ‘heartbroken’ but has decided to focus on her own music career, instead of guiding other.

Rita Ora and Dannii Minogue are said to be on Cowell’s stand by list for the new series.
