Cheryl Cole is reportedly planning to start work on her second solo album, while she holidays in America this summer.

The singer, who is recovering from malaria, flew to LA yesterday and is reportedly planning to stay in Simon Cowell’s mansion with Derek Hough for at least a week.

Although doctors have warned the X Factor judge to take things easy for the foreseeable future, insiders say that she plans to lay down a few tracks before she returns to the UK.

A source told The Sun: “Cheryl couldn’t sit around any longer. She feels 100 times better and wants to get some normality back. She was going crazy sitting around at home.

“She wants a change of scenery so has decided to go to Los Angeles and get back into the studio. But it’s still nowhere near the work schedule she had before she fell ill.”
