Cheryl Cole supports super fan Aimee Buck

22 year old Amiee makes her X Factor debut tomorrow night and admits that she her audition has been inspired by one of The X Factor Judges.
“I first started singing when I was very, very young, I always sang to my mum and she use to tell me to shut up. Music means a lot to me, someone who inspires me most is Cheryl Cole because we’ve both came from Newcastle, both come from working backgrounds, she’s a massive inspiration because she’s gone from that and look at her now she’s a superstar. I hope that I can follow her steps. Today is probably the biggest day of my life and I really, really, really want to make a massive impact on the Judges”
On stage, Cheryl’s face lights up as she immediately recognises a familiar accent; “Where are you from?” she asks as Amiee replies “Your neck of the woods missy”. With their home town bond established, Cheryl asks if Amiee is feeling nervous, “Yeah. I’m feeling nervous but I’m very, very excited, I’m feeling a buzz”
As Amiee begins her audition, it seems she may have made wrong choice of song. Simon stops her and says “Heard enough”. But fellow Geordie, Cheryl, takes a more sympathetic approach; “Well I’m going to start off by saying I think you look like a pop star already, you look absolutely fantastic, but I think that song was too big for you Amiee, I really do, I think you’ve got a nice pop voice”. Louis agrees with Cheryl and Simon slightly softens; “Amie I think you’ve got a good voice but it’s not a great voice, you’re very well prepared, you look fantastic but I don’t think your voice is good enough darling”.
As it all becomes a bit much for Amiee and she begins to sob on stage, Cheryl and Louis continue to try and reassure Amiee as Simon offers some practical advice.
Cheryl: Don’t cry babe
Louis: Amiee listen, we’re not saying you’re bad, I think you’re a good pop singer I don’t think you’re a big diva singer
Simon: So you’ve got to work out in your mind the right kind of song for you
On hearing this, Amiee explains that she nearly picked a Girls Aloud track, so Simon, with the audience’s encouragement, offers Amiee a chance to sing this and with Amiee concerned she’ll forget the words, Cheryl tells her she’ll help her.
During Amiee’s performance, she stumbles across some of the words so, as it seems evident Cheryl has warmed to Amiee, she gets up on stage and holds her hand while she sings, telling her “Well done babe”. But as Cheryl takes her place back at the Judges desk, will her support be enough for Amiee to make it through?
