Cheryl Cole to blow £100,000 on X Factor outfits

Celebrity clothes horse, Cheryl Cole, is prepared to spend over £100,000 on clothes for this years X Factor series.

Reports suggest that the Girls Aloud singer has already spent £59,000 on outfits and plans to blow another £45,000 for the live shows. This year, rather than styling herself as a glamour-puss, Cheryl will be aiming for a more edgy, rick chick look.

A source said: “Cheryl definitely wants to ditch her glamorous flamboyant dresses for more provoking outfits which include ripped jeans, sleeveless tops and studded boots.”

Cheryl will save some pennies (or thousands of pounds) after a number of high-profile designers, including Pucci and Matthew Williamson, have agreed to lend her clothes for the show. However many other designer garments will be paid for with her own hard earned cash.

One unnamed London-based designer told Bang Media: “Credibility-wise, Cheryl is a kind of in-betweener. I don’t buy all her CDs, but she is beautiful and has a nice figure and looks good in clothes. She has an understanding of fashion.”

Another source said: “Cheryl spends a lot of money looking her best, but it’s not about vanity, it’s about achieving as much as she can. She sees it as an investment – something she needs to perfect to do well in her career.”

Cheryl has recently ditched her new auburn locks and is reportedly planning a striking new hairstyle for the launch of the live X Factor shows this October.

If ripped up rags and a rock chick look is what’s wanted a visit to sort through the rags at any charity shop could save a chunk of that 100k and reduce spending to less than a tenner per artist. Seriously this funding of outfits is yet another extravagance that should be cut back to within reason. I mean ITV has stopped producing some excellent programmes for this one, yet this one carries on spending seems very wrong.
