In a bid to impress Sharon Osbourne and her ageing rocker husband Ozzy, Chico jumped into the swimming pool at her Beverly Hills Mansion holding a microphone.

Unfortunately the X Factor contestant forgot that the microphone was still plugged into the mains.

A source said: “Chico wanted to impress and thought plunging into Sharon’s Beverly Hills swimming pool would be a brilliant finale to his act.

“He’d forgotten he was holding a microphone with a lead from an amplifier – plugged into the mains.

“He was lucky not to be electrocuted.”
