Dannii Minogue makes statement about leaving The X Factor
Dannii Minogue has released an official statement on her decision to leave The X Factor.
The Australian star claims that she was left with no choice but to walk away from the ITV show, after bosses moved the audition dates to fit in with the schedule of Take That star Gary Barlow and they clashed with her filming dates for Australia’s Got Talent.
Some have speculated that Dannii was pushed from the reality TV series, but in her statement, she claims that it was her decision to leave.
She wrote:
I am so disappointed that I can’t be a part of The X Factor this year. I’m going to miss the show and the amazing team who work so incredibly hard on it.
During discussions for me to return it became clear that unfortunately, this year, the X Factor audition dates in the UK clash with the live shows of Australia’s Got Talent during June and July. For this reason I am unable to return.
I want to wish the new judges every success for this year’s show, and can’t wait to see who the British public choose as their next big star.
Thanks to everyone who has shown me so much love and support, and brought me so much joy during my four incredible years working on the show.
‘Team Minogue’ will continue to fly a flag later this year when the amazingly talented, and last year’s winner, Matt Cardle releases his debut album.
We think Simon Cowell is taking a huge risk by letting Dannii go, on every poll we have ever run on Unreality TV she has emerged as the nation’s favourite judge with a large majority.
Their relationship was said to be strained, after Dannii refused to leave the show when she fell pregnant last year, forcing him to bring in a series of guests judges , while she took maternity leave in Melbourne.
Simon is now said to be placing the fate of the ITV series in the hands of Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos and an as yet un-named female judge and hoping that viewers will still tune in, even though three of the panel will be completely new to the show.

I will try to be impartial on this, even though i am enraged. Dannii was the best judge. The last season highlighted that not only on the poll and her victory, but also on every comment she made. She stood by her picks, and did what a true mentor would. The X Factor will lose by not having her.
And, to add insult to injury, Cheryl and Simon have left too. While I don’t think Cheryl has the experience, and Simon the impartiality to be as good judges as she was, they were important to the show. With them three leaving, and leaving Louis behind, which I think is as useless as a good voice on Eurovision, I think the show is over. It takes time to create chemistry, and the listed names (Gary excluded) are virtually unknowns. I, for one, will not be tuning in.
