Dannii Minogue reveals she was asked to return to The X Factor and speaks for the first time about Simon Cowell affair!
Dannii Minogue has finally broken her silence on the topic of her and Simon Cowell’s affair.
The former X Factor judge was said to be devastated when earlier this year a biography based on the life of the music mogul was released and contained intimate details of an affair which until that point had been kept totally secret.
It was revealed that Dannii had been sleeping with the TV boss when she started on The X Factor and the sordid ins and outs of the fling emerged just as she was getting over a painful split from her baby daddy Kris Smith.
Simon Cowell tried to dodge the blame of the sleazy book, insisting that it was unauthorised but it was reported that he met with author Tom Bowers on many occasions and gave him unprecedented access to his private life.
It seems that Dannii believes the whole thing was masterminded by her former lover. In an interview with Glamour magazine, she said:
‘I haven’t read the book but I’ve been told about the excerpts that relate to me and the speculation about my private life.’
She added:
‘From what’s been reported they put hundreds of hours into making this book and Tom is a respected journalist. They looked very pleased with it all at their launch.
‘I’m sure it makes for a great read and I wish them all the best.’
Ohh we like it, classy, cold but ever so slightly bitchy with it. Take that Si Co!
Meanwhile, it was also claimed recently that Minogue had been in talks with ITV bosses about making an X Factor return this year, after it was decided that Kelly Rowland would not be back.
However insiders say she let producers down at the last minute, because she was so angry with Simon.
The brunette beauty admits that she was approached about making a comeback and continued:
‘I was offered the chance to return but I decided it wasn’t the right thing for me, as yet again it didn’t fit in with the commitments I’d already made to Australia’s Got Talent.’
The mum of one continued:
‘I am fiercely passionate about every show I commit to. I had four incredible years on The X Factor but the show has moved on, and so have I.’
We find ourselves wishing that she hadn’t…we would totally love to have her back on the X Factor panel this year wouldn’t you?

sleazy old dannii??? what about sleazy old simon? men sleep around and they are heroes and women do it and they are sleazy!!! she wasn’t the one kissing and telling, which makes him the worst kind of man. one that has no respect for himself or the woman he has slept with. where is his self respect? i think it is disgusting that such a high profile man is abusing his power and profiting from what should remain a private and personal situation. also, anyone that calls the woman sleazy needs to take a good long look at their own morals! no wonder the world is going to pot!
You’re spot on about Cowell, he is a total sleazebag. But Dannii slept with him, so imo, she’s just as sleazy.
I’m sick of hearing about how ‘classy’ Dannii is, she’s far from it. Fake boobs, posed nude for Playboy and slept with Cowell – far from classy.
So what if Dannii and Simon did sleep together. IF true, then both of them were single at the time. Neither of them did anything wrong. If they were attached, then yes, it would be sleazy, but neither were at the time, so it is not sleazy.
I just cannopt believe the grief Dannii has recieved because she slept with someone who was single at the time and herself single at the time. I would understand the criticism and grief given to her if she and Simon were both attached, but they weren’t. In 2007 (when they were allegedly meant to have slept together, both were single.) I also would love to know why Dannii is the one getting all the insults and criticism.
If Simon and Dannii did sleep together, they have done nothing wrong at all, considering they were both single at the time. They did nothing wrong. They did not hurt anyone.
As for Dannii turning down The X Factor, I am a fan of her, but I honestly think she did the right thing. She had four series on the show and needs to do something new. I hope she can get some tv work in the UK which suits her, because she is a miss.

Put it this way Lucy, Cheryl got a lot more criticism for being Simon’s pet – if SHE had screwed Cowell, she would get a completely different reaction to darling Dannii.
