Eoghan Quigg’s new single ‘28,000 Friends’….what do you think?
Eoghan Quigg is to become the first of last year’s X Factor contestants to release a single and his debut is titled 28,000 friends.
RCA are obviously hoping that Eoghan can tap into the online generation and the songs revolves around the whole MySpace/Facebook phenomenon. The opening verse goes :

It moves into deeper and more meaningful territory when Eoghan asks:

Very thought provoking eh?
In my humble opinion, and I know that many of you are going to send me hate filled messages after reading this, but I think this song is a big pile of s***e! Young Eoghan had great charisma on X Factor and a passable voice. However this song makes nothing of that and is a blatant cash in with no real substance or even melody. With material like this, Eoghan has no hope of any sort of extended career after the X Factor.

I like his new song! I know it’s been a bit of a rush job to get his album and this lead single out, but it really is perfect for his target demographic. It’s what his fans wanted! XD I wish him massive good luck and tons of success!
Completely agree with the author. Load of S***e!! Just a quick money making scheme from RCA. There won’t be anything new from him in the future. They did exactley the same thing with Ray Quinn 2 years ago with his s**t swing album which was released in March 2007. He was dropped from Sony BMG within 7 months. He has an ok voice but they shouldn’t have done an album.
This is quite possibly the worst song I have ever heard in my life, and being a bit of a fan of the Busted/Disney genre (HSM, Miley Cyrus, McFly and Busted) I actualyl felt like throwing up when I heard this song.
I bet there are girls out there who have a crush on him, so when this piece of crap came out they secretly hated it but wanted to like it because they have a crush on him.
The song is too repetetive and the lyrics are the most bland and uninteresting lyrics ever. I hate the fact that he sings about the internet, on of the most unorigional things to do ever and should be left to online comidians who can sing about the internet but in a funny way.
Dont even ask about the chorus- when I was listening to the song I wondered when the chorus would kick in. I did not notice that ‘You and your 28,000 friends’ was actually the chorus, as it is so un-eventful and and feels just like a build up TO a chorus, not an actual chorus.
The song isn’t even catchy. Whenever I hear people singing along to it, they sing in a whiney kareoke voice as to take the piss out of eggnogs voice, as it is whiney and horrible.
