Olly Murs has admitted that he would love to give up his solo career and join boyband Blue.

The X Factor star claimed that he was a huge fan of the four piece vocal group when he was a teenager and told The Daily Star:

“I’m a huge Blue fan. I was obsessed with them growing up.

“When I was between 19 and 20 all I sang were Blue songs.

“I met Lee Ryan recently and told him how much I liked them and how I wanted to be the fifth member of Blue.”

Blue will soon be heading off to Düsseldorf, Germany to represent the UK with their single ‘I Can’ in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

Olly is hoping they can pull off a win on the night, he added:

“I’m backing them all the way at Eurovision. I love their single I Can.

“Hopefully afterwards we can do something together.”

We thought Olly’s loyalties might be torn, as competing against Blue while they represent Ireland in the competition are his fellow X Factor graduates Jedward.

Murs confessed: “They’ve had an amazing career so far and they seem unstoppable.

“I do feel some loyalty to them as they are my X Factor friends. But it’s all about Blue.”
