George Michael to judge on American X Factor 2011!
George Michael is reportedly willing to become a judge on the American version of ‘The X Factor’.
The ‘Faith’ hitmaker – who was jailed earlier this year for driving under the influence of drugs and possession of cannabis – is said to see Simon Cowell’s offer to mentor hopefuls on the show, as a chance to turn his life around and put his career back on track.
A source said: “George is going to take the job. It’s an amazing opportunity to get back in the limelight and reverse his recent bad spell. Simon knows that Americans love him. He is as big in the US as he is over here in the UK.
“He is a true star and has the wit and experience for the job. It’s the perfect platform to resurrect his career.”
It is thought that the 47-year-old star has been offered over £1 million to work on the show, with UK panellist Cheryl Cole also expected to appear. George previously appeared on the UK show, when he duetted with eventual winner Joe McElderry on the 2009 final.
Insiders suggest that Rolling Stones star Sir Mick Jagger and former Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher have also been approached by Simon.
The source added to The Sun newspaper: “Simon is determined to have a panel of amazing judges.
“The show has to go off with a bang especially as Aerosmith frontman Steve Tyler will be on ‘American Idol’.”

With George as a judge on the US X Factor, the show over there could become even more sleazier than the UK version.
First of all, George Michael is not huge in the
states and has not had a hit here in years.
That being said I love him and his voice is
incredible but I doubt this story.
BTW, the only thing we know of him lately is
his multiple arrests on a variety of charges.
And there’s noway that Simon would have
3 English judges out of 4.
Who? Get someone we actually know, stop importing so many Brits, or at least bring Dermot over!!
i am hoping only cheryl cole and simon cowell will be judges on american x/factor from the british isles…whereever they live i do not see any of them giving up their british citizenship and they will do us proud…i am looking forward to launch of the x/factor in america and hope it goes down well..they really bounce off each other and make a good team…
