Geri Halliwell thinks X Factor’s Gary Barlow is ‘intimidated’ because The Spice Girls sold more records than Take That! Not likely!
Geri Halliwell really is delusional…
The former Spice Girls singer is due to make her first appearance on the 2012 series of The X Factor this evening and on the episode, in which she joins the panel as a guest judge in Liverpool, she decides that Gary Barlow has a problem with her and her success.
Ginger Spice first gets lippy when girl group ‘The IT Girls’ take to the stage and sing her own son ‘Stop’ in the most tuneless fashion imaginable. Afterwards, Geri was keen to give them a chance, telling the hopeless wannabes that they have ‘potential’. Thankfully Gaz was on hand to set them straight and inform them that no, they don’t….none at all.
Halliwell took umbrage with the Take That singer slagging the girls who can’t sing – we can see why that would strike a chord – and began to slag his own band, insisting that half of them couldn’t sing during the early parts of their career. OK that part may be true, sorry Jason and Howard.
After the incident – during which we’re pretty sure we saw Gary’s rage face – Tulisa giggled about the tension between the two singers and joked:
“Gary and Geri are having a little battle of the bands, a little bit of rivalry going on.”
But Geri explained it all away insisting:
“I mean I know that I’m competitive but he hides it, I’m just more honest about it.”
“I think he’s intimidated because you know, I sold more records.”
You may have sold more records Geri (and we haven’t actually been bothered to go away and verify that claim) but let’s face it while The Spice Girls may have been huge at their time, Gary’s career is still going strong, with Take That selling out a huge European tour last year, winning countless awards for his singing, songwriting and even fashion sense this decade and in the past few months alone he has worked on Sport Relief, organised the Diamond Jubilee concert and rubbed shoulders with The Queen and Andrew Lloyd Webber to name a few.
No Geri, we don’t think he’s jealous at all. Now go back to bed with Russell Brand would you!

Why do you assume Geri meant Howard and Jason?
They could all sing but some did have more experience than others. The first time round Mark and Jason, may have had the least experience and confident in their abilities, as Mark has said he wasn’t that sure of his singing then, even though he sang lead on Babe and Jason was never encouraged in his singing by their manager. Howard sings lead on the band’s 90′s anthem Never Forget. Sounds like he could sing, to me.
Since then they have all proved they can sing lead vocals.
Gosh! What this ugly blond think about herself? She act like a trash Diva, she’s just fat, she can’t even SING! nor play an Music Instrument or even dance! She was the untalented ugly member of Spice Girls! Atleast Victoria is classy comparing to her. Unfortunately, she hasn’t heard Howard always singing “Never Forget” and Beautiful World plus ” What is Love “as lead vocals. And Jason singing “Another Brick…at the Nobody Else Tour, Wooden Boat and How Did it come to this at the Circus Tour! Jason has more amazing voice than the 5 Spice Girls! She maybe deaf and suffering from blindness or what, that time? or she was just out of this world!
which stupid write that article..i like both take that and spice girls but common take that never was popular as spice girls …take that is only big in UK and Germany …spice sold 75 millions with three album and silly writer ..spice girls didn’t perform in last 4 years you brainless then how you compare them while take that released albums left right and center …..spice made record with their 2007 tour …gary was nowhere from 1998 to 2006 ..even not in news….geri got 4 no1 singels and sold millions of solo album ..before write shitttt go and find some info …gary is a flop artist without take that ….unemployed for 10 years until they return …loser
