As fans of Girls Aloud will of course know, the group has reformed and recorded a new single, which had been intended for release at the end of this week, however, it was leaked onto the net, so of course, we have it for you!

But I have to say, when I heard it, I thought maybe it was a joke song, designed to make the press look stupid for publishing it, but nope, apparently this really is their new single!

It’s a frankly bizarre mixture of rapping and the band’s trademark vocal, with lyrics such as, “Go, girls, g-g-go, go, go. We girls gonna take control.

“You boys better know, know, know. We girls gonna run this show.”

Now, as much as I love the band members, and primarily Cheryl Cole and Kimberley Walsh, aren’t they getting a tad long in the tooth to be singing about ‘girls’ and ‘boys’?

‘Ladies’ and ‘gents’ I could get on board with, and let’s face it, those words would be more age appropriate…

Meanwhile, the Daily Star today reports that when Cheryl left her philandering ex-husband Ashley Cole, his friends feared he may commit suicide.

The paper states that people close to Ashley told Cheryl that he was “in a bad way” and had claimed he’d told them, “I don’t want to be here anymore.”

Cheryl herself made the revelation in her autobiography which is entitled, Cheryl: My Story, in which she wrote of Ashley’s breakdown, “If I thought I was cracking up, people were telling me that Ashley was in an even worse state.

“‘Cheryl, it’s terrifying,’ one friend said, adding, “‘He’s literally talking nonsense, he’s got a beard and he’s smoking and drinking loads.’

“Somebody else told me that Ashley had said something like: ‘I don’t want to be here any more.’

“I didn’t believe he was seriously suicidal, but I was relieved to also hear that the club was trying to get him some help.”

In her book, Cheryl also admits that she too suffered a nervous breakdown after her marriage to Ashley broke down.

They of course split after Cheryl discovered he’d cheated on her several times.
