Glee star Matthew Morrison says Cheryl Cole “would’ve worked great” on X Factor USA
Matthew Morrison, who plays the role of teacher Will Schuster in hit American comedy musical drama Glee, has revealed that he thinks Simon Cowell made a mistake in firing Cheryl Cole from The X Factor USA.
He made his remarks while attending the premiere of new movie, What to Expect When You’re Expecting, in which Cheryl has a cameo role.
He said, “From what I saw of Cheryl, adlibbing her part in our film, she was great at it. Very natural.”
But he added, “With the US X Factor thing, I’m sure Simon Cowell had his reasons, but I think she would’ve worked great.
“If I judged on a talent show I’d want to be just like Simon Cowell…
“I think people need to hear the brutal, honest truth. I wouldn’t dress it up nicely. I’m not sure if they could handle that from Mr Schue, though!”
Matthew went on to say that he’d love it if Cameron Diaz – who stars in the movie – would be take a guest role on Glee.
He said, “I’m trying to get Cameron to be on the show. I don’t know what role she’d play.
“She loves (musical theatre) – she doesn’t fancy herself as a singer, but I think she can fit in quite well there.”
Would you like to see Cameron – or Cheryl for that matter – on Glee?
