‘Hate Cheryl Cole’ trends on Twitter as she drops Gamu Nhengu
It seems that X Factor judge Cheryl Cole has made a few enemies tonight.
The former ‘nations sweetheart’ angered Twitter users, when she allowed Rebecca Ferguson, Katie Waissel and Cher Lloyd to progress to the ITV live shows, therefore ditching both Gamu Nhengu and Treyc Cohen.
After her choices were revealed, the phrase ‘Hate Cheryl Cole’ trended on the social networking site for more than two hours and a Facebook page blasting her decision to drop Ms Nhengu, gathered 17,000 fans in just three.
One member slammed Katie Waissel and Chez, writing:
WTF!!!! That stupid blonde girl that can’t sing has a mental in stability n crys all the time has got through instead of gamu guess the rumors wer true n x factor is really fixed…. Well Cheryl u really have pissed off a lot of ppl hope ya proud it’s not often u find pure talent like gamu n u have just kicked her out …

Insiders have suggested that the judges will be allowed to choose one disappointed singer to return for next week’s show but claim that Cheryl chose Treyc and not Gamu.

Cheryl made a decision that has got people talking so you know it will have a big audience next weekend. Also, fair enough Gamu and Trayc were really great singers but you need entertaining people that you want to talk about every week! Like Katie you want to know what her gimics will be and what Cher will sing/rap and people will talk about them. Otherwise it will just be really good singers singing and people will tune off. Sounds silly but seriously that would be SO boring.

No I didn’t but they got people talking, and they were in every magazine, talked about on every show and clearly creating more money as people wanted to know what they were going to do next.
I really think Gamu can make it without the show – she just doesn’t need the show to be successful. However when you think about it the show had more hype and viewers last year than any other year and to be totally honest the singing talent wasn’t brilliant – probably just 2 or 3 were great singers.
Sorry, but let’s analyse this a little …
1)Here we have a singing contest (? ok, Jedward proves their is also an added ‘factor’ to bowing to the popular vote) where 2 contestants fail to perform ( 1 being ill and the other 1 following a history of failing to remember her words in previous knockout rounds) and then you have 1 contestant whom has vocally shone in every task/round/audition asked of her …
Suddenly, after 2 dreadful auditions ( and I mean dreadful) these 2 girls are offered up to the LIVE shows because 1 has performed well previously although failed to deliver at the judges house ( kind of a smack in the face to those who have performed flawlessly throughout) and 1 whom thinks she has a legacy to fulfill amongst other things, dresses like some kind of ‘Desperately Seeking Susuan’ wannabee and has an attached relationship to ‘Sony BMG’ and can’t for the life of her remember her words … both are considered adequate for the live shows …
Yet, amongst all this, here you have 2 at a push 3 other singers which are ‘not good enough’ yet, are obviously more vocally talented than the 2 which were succesful.
Granted, what Cheryl, heard on a live audition can be completely different to what is fed through a TV channel, but when you have millions of a British watching public go completely ‘social’ on the outcome it means you have to wonder WHY!

Thing is X Factor is about finding someone with a ‘talent’ they can develop – because it looks good if they’ve progressed on the show – and someone with something different. Fair enough it’s a singing competition but they already have Leona and Alexandra and I’m thinking they don’t want similiar artists or it would all get a bit pointless as every year would be the same.
I honestly believe Cheryl wants Cher to win the compitition and Gamu would have taken the public votes, so Cheryl took Gamu out. Cher is right for the pop scene and is different with her attitude and trend. Gamu is a pure talent and in my opinion deserves more than this show could possicly give her anyway. It’s a cruel and manufactured process. Mark McGregor was lifted too. It would seem the show is only looking for a pop person. They should call the show popshot. It seems to be where they are aimimg. The strange thing about Cole decisions is that all the girls who may of been difficult for Cole to handle have been got rid of, and the ones with no confidence have been put through. Which means that all 3 of her girlscould go on stage and have stage fright on their 1st day. But then Cheryl can claim all the credit for then if they improve.

For the girls the entire “judges house” was nothing short of RUBBISH! Both Katie (Clown!) and Cher cracked up and were pathetic at the house. If they were sent through on their “body of work” or “potential” from their previous performances then Gamu was clearly the stronger of she and Katie.

It is a complete abomination that Cheryl Tweedy chose both Katie and Cher over Gamu.
Whilst Katie and Cher had both fluffed performances multiple times, Gamu had performed remarkably well throughout the competition, garnering huge public support and reducing Louis Walsh to tears in boot camp with a beautiful performance.
Neither Katie nor Cher have a hope of winning the competition. Gamu is clearly very popular with the public and has a great voice and unique onstage presence, almost like a British Tracy Chapman.

You had Raquel (black), Keri (black), Gamu (black), TreyC (black), Annastacia (black), Rebecca (half black/half white), and Katie and Cher who were both white.
Obviously you pick the white contestants and then the lightest black girl.
This is NOT a talent contest whatever the judges claim. It’s an entertainment show/escapist luxo-fantasy for the masses and an ego trip for Cowell, Cole, Huq & Co. with ratings as the sole target. The judges choose personal favourites and the producers keep weird, quirky contestants in the show who can’t sing (Katie and Cher are a joke) but whom they think will provide compulsive watching and hence higher ratings. In particular, Cole has revealed herself to be an abysmal judge of singing talent – 2 out of 3 appalling choices – but perhaps not surprising as she is talentless herself. I suspect Cole dropped Gamu as she wasn’t weird or edgy enough despite having a superior singing voice.
If the show continues like this many won’t be watching next year – including me. Perhaps a better outcome if Nicole had been involved in the selection of the finalists than the self-obsessed Queen Cheryl (“Will I Am” if you ever get your leg over you’ll quickly get bored with this “precious” prima donna).

I think if Cowell uses her for US X-factor he’ll be making a big mistake. The Americans won’t “get” her (or understand her accent) because she is a nobody there and she won’t get “get” American music which is so far removed from what she is singing and is used to. Shopping in LA isn’t the same as understanding Americans’ taste in music. Nicole Sherzinger would be the obvious choice. The reason Cheryl dumped Gamu even when she had the chance to take her back is obvious. Gami would have beaten both of her pet favorites, Cher and Katie hands down, and won the contest (because Matt is overrrated and Gamu has more popular appeal – did everyone notice the standing ovation she got from the audience at her audition?). Bias has got the beter of Cheryl.
And the malaria must have gone to her brain because she is totally out of touch with public opinion and made a very obviously bad decision. She nodoubt chose Rebecca because Rebecca is the poorest of the three and less of a threat to her two pet faves. @ Isaidso You make some good points. I think the key question is, was the judges’ house stage filmed before or after the Bootcamp show was aired?? If not, then i can see how Cher would get a free pass to the Finals. Her bootcamp performance was hugely unpopular with the public though. As far as Gamu on youtube goes, i know she had over 2 million for her inital audition which when i checked was 3rd only to Cher and Shirlena “you must have mercy, PLEASE” Johnson. So yes, Gamu was being touted as a potential winner from her first audition. Katie, in contrast, had squeezed through the first audition and not displayed anything even approaching Gamu vocally.
Cher always struck me as someone who, over time, would grate on the public.

Nobody really knows who is going to win. I think Cher is very frail emotionally, and I am not surprised with her being bullied, happy slapped, badly beaten up and it all recorded and passed around the school on mobiles. @Xfactor regulars – its not supposed to make sense. They have known for weeks that they were going to have a wildcard with the public voting for who should go through out of the four wildcards. Method in the madness is, that Cheryl and other judges were told to leave out people like Gamu, Trey-Ce etc, in order to see a massive public vote and the money comes rolling in. Hey presto ITV gets extra riches out of it all!
I am disgusted with Cole and Minogue, something is not right here, I smell a conspiracy and they should be sacked, Gamu Nhengu was by far the best singer tonight and should have won the whole thing, it disgusts me and obvious to everyone now that the whole show is rigged.
Here in Canada we have been watching for a few years. Last year was an upset with Joe winning over Olly. Do we even know if Joe is still singing? We have been waiting for Olly’s CD for almost 1 year. Now this upset with Cheryl clearly not listening to the singers in front of her. They should have kept Nicole. Rebecca can’t keep her eyes open long enough to sing any song. She’s going to need a lot more than confidence to win. Cher and Katie should not have been put in. Again, I have to question what direction this show is going. It makes me worry about the future of X Factor US when it starts. Gamu and Treyc clearly had better voices than the other two girls. How could Cheryl say that Gamu needs more experience when she is already older than Cher and clearly has a voice I would much rather her than Cher’s continuous rapping. Not everyone likes RAP. It is possible that she is not a racist as we cant see peoples hearts but it is difficult to see why she sifted out the 3 strongest singers and put the weakest ones through even though 2 of them messed up big time and the third just could not look up – which has been construed a a lack of confidence. Racism isn’t something you need to read in someone’s heart to know is there. It can and does show out in their behaviour. Katie however I agree with you, I think part of Katie’s plan was to mess up to get people to feel sorry for her. And I am sick of people playing the “it is not racism card.” So what’ the difference? The difference is that sometimes it really is racism and this is a case in point.
I agree that it isn’t fair to say it’s racism in every case in which a black person isn’t put throug. For example Dannii didn’t put Paije (who is black) through and she made a fair decision. I don’t believe that was a racist decesion. I thnk it was right.
In Cheryl’s case, however, I noticed how she had sidelined neary all the black acts in the auditions and it just struck me as weird. I told my wife that she would not put Gamu through, and while everyone else was “shocked”, I just nodded my head because I had seen it coming a mile away.
Besides it’s more complex than just plain racism. She is in a sense getting back at Ashley for what he did to her by sidelining black acts, Add to that the fact that her mind has undoubtedly been affected by the malaria. It does hit the brain. Even Will.I.Am commented on his arrival in the UK that he didn’t think she had fully recovered from it because she was acting so strangely.
And yet another thing is that Cheryle said that 2010 had been the best year of her life so far. Huh? The woman got a divorce, what is she talking about. People say Cheryl Cole acts on emotions rather than the real deal but I disagree that she made her pick based on emotions, if she did her emotions must be really twisted and really sick because great singing voice evokes true emotions. While Cheryl is incredibly attractive, it is clear beyond doubt that she has no musical talent, so her picking the wrong acts for the live finals comes as no big surprise. It takes a talent to recognize another.
Gamu and Treyc were outstanding, even Will-i-am commended Treyc’s vocal ranges. Anyway I believe u can’t keep a great talent down.

I don’t know why people skirt around the issue of racism so much as though the very idea is unthinkable. They seem to be saying “Oh no we can’t accuse her of that!.” And yet we will quite glibly call her every other name under the sun. What is it about racism that makes this so exceptional The deniers make me wonder why they so strenuously refuse to look at the obvious. And racism really is the glaringly obvious explanation while this strange decision remains otherwise incomprehensible.
Racism is as simple as blacks being sidelined in favour of whites when it is abundantly clear to all that they have at least as much talent, and this is what has happened here. It really doesn’t have to be any more complicated than that. Becuse I can see what she’s about, I predicted accurately that she would leave Gamu out of the final 12 and while those evidently unable to see it were apparently “shocked,” it came as no surprise to me AT ALL.
I disagree with the poster who said that you need to have takent to rcognise it others. I don’t have any singing talent but I recognise it in Gamu and Cheryl said she was “blown away” by Gamu’s first audition, so she knew she could sing. No the explanation really is much simpler.
I cannot explain in words how disappointed I am in Coles decision to drop Gamu. And to chose, that caterwauling Cher is just beyond belief. However at last the nation can really see what a two faced racist pig Cole really is. And let’s face it, when she was Tweddy, she insulted a black person and now she has insulted the whole black population. Words fail me, I just can’t waste any more time on that piece of dirt.

Well Well Well, comments this afternoon from Rio Ferdinand Man Utd and England centre half who said “Footballers watch xfactor too. Dont blame Cheryl for final contestants – Cheryl is TOLD who to put through for viewing figures.” I knew it lol. Also Channel 5 interviewd enraged fans on the street and asked will the judges choices stop you from watching xfactor? All of them said NO not at all, we’ll be watching outrage and controversy is all part of the pantomime experience. I told you everybody will still be glued to their screens watching xfactor haha!
Hey no one will stop watching the show just because of a dim wit – the show is greater than any one judge because its about people’s future and the public will do all they can to help people who want to excel just as they supported Cheryl when she auditioned – so the issue of whether u said so or not does not stand. You also need to prove that she was told who to choose which is a lame excuse to exonerate her. If she is principled then she should have said no I will put through who I want and lets see if Simon would dare fire her for that. And how come she has the liberty say what she likes on the live shows even against Simon’s contestants – sorry but that is no excuse.

X factor a fix? Oh definitely. Double standards by Cheryl who couldn’t sing a note to save her life – definitely. Pretty face or no pretty face – she can’t sing and shouldn’t be allowed to judge others on their singing ability.
You reject Anastasia last time because she cracked under pressure, yet Cher and the bleached blonde drama queen who between them didn’t even sing a note put together and yet both broke down, you put through. Anastasia who can sing both those girls under the table wasn’t selected for the live show – fair enough, but where’s the justice in that if that is what you were basing your rejection process on the last time – your a hypocrite. Its just an excuse Cheryl. Maybe Simon has told you who to put through, but we thought you had your own mind and wouldn’t be bullied? The bigger picture is at the end of the day, clearly, Simon calls the shots. Anastasia wasn’t the best or even strongest voice in comparison to say Gamu and a couple of the other young ladies, but she must be left wondering what on earth does she have to do apart from draw blood to get through, because she sang and performed her socks off this year without cracking under pressure yet still didn’t get through.

Well as you’ve all brought it up, Cheryl racist? Even though she married a black man – POSSIBLY. It doesn’t mean anything who you marry, its what’s in the heart. What’s in the heart comes out of the mouth. I cannot forget the toilet incident and the comments about ‘you black bit*h’ etc. etc. etc. and the big black swollen eye she gave that poor lady and the AGGRESSION she showed towards her, now that’s nasty and aggressive.
As for Miss Danni, she was just as shocking, I’ve known from day one Danni and the majority of Australia do not like black people so her selection came as no surprise. (I mean look at what they did to the real indigenous Australian’s, the aborigines and left the poor people so traumatised, they can hardly function to this day, utterly destroyed them, but that’s another debate). A few years back I remember Danni calling one of the young black girls who got through to the live show aggressive (her name escapes me), she had a sort of afro, petite and a different dress sense – not the best voice, but nonetheless, there wasn’t a drop of aggression coming from that young girl, but Danni wouldn’t drop it and was on her back with that comment constantly, as if to stir up an aggressive reaction from her to prove her pathetic point, but that young lady didn’t rise to it – Danni just didn’t like her. Typically this is what’s said about black people especially if they are assertive, positive or even out-spoken its interpreted as being aggressive. The only one of those guys who Danni picked last night who doesn’t have a bad voice is the painter/decorator guy Matt and all the best to him. The other two guy’s are foregettable, as someone rightly posted earlier, their performances were very poor and weak. Again, Danni is another one who cannot sing yet is put in a position to judge others about their singing – laughable!
I agree with the comments to SACK CHERYL and DANNI and bring in NICOLE and perhaps another judge who have real talent (possibly a singer), who is fair and who has an ear for a good voice.
As for Gamu and the rest of you who can sing and who clearly have powerful strong voices, forget making it through the ‘Fix (If you Face Fits) Factor’ sorry I mean the ‘X Factor’ and go the route most great singers have gone, work hard, make and record your tunes and approach the labels direct. Let’s face it, apart from Leona Lewis, JLS and maybe at a push Alexander (if you extract her so called pretend Reggae tune (which was terrible)), you don’t hear of the others over the years that came 1st place or even runners-up, so my point is winning the ‘Fix Factor’ isn’t always the most successful route and doesn’t always have guarantees. Go out there and make it yourself instead of helping to line Simon Cowell’s pockets. WHO NEEDS ‘FIX FACTOR’/'X FIXER’!

As for Simon running things and choosing who he wants over the others opinions – of course and rightfully because they are to be given a million pound record contract and he is going to choose who his SYCO company gives it too. He wants a return on his money, that is obvious. He also wants controversy because that brings in the money. Cheryl was cleared of ever making any racist comments by a jury of black and white jurors. I am always going to fight any all accusations of racism abuse where they don’t exist! I think that there is some plot to give white contestants a wider chance to excel. Lets consider the facts – those contestants that have excelled post x factor shows are black i.e. Leona, Alexandra and JLS and they have overshadowed every other contestants plain and simple. So Simon and his team probably want to balance this reality but unfortunately they dont seem to realise that success is based on talent not on the colur of the skin. Simon himself has some explaining to do – why cant he have a least one ethnic minority judge on his main panel like he had on American Idol – Asian, black or mixed race why? Why cant he put Sinitta on the panel? will.i.am was just a cover-up. I dont like playing the race card but if its there its there you cant shut people down for expressing their views on something with such a huge public impact as this and since Cheryl decided to put herself in the public domain, she will always be subject to public scrutiny like all other celebrities because by being in the public eye she has placed herself as someone who people will look up to as a role model and if she is allowed to get away with this sort of behaviour, then those people that look up to her will follow in her footsteps and what will we get from that – well an angry and disatisfied diverse community. So OFCOM muct investigate this issue.

I agree with the fact that it’s an outrage for such a talented girl as Gamu and Trayc to be kicked out in favour for Katie and Cher. Katies voice is good but she’s fluffed up too many times, she’s not ready this year. Cher’s quirky but didn’t sing even sing in the last performance and again I don’t think she’s ready this year. I agree with one of the comments about Cheryl seeing a bit of herself in cher (a bit egotisical if you ask me!).
I’ve never rated Cheryl as a singer (too much voice correction needed!) I think that Nicole should replace her. she’s talented and I think the nation took to her warmth and beauty.
I don’t think her choice was racially motivated and I don’t agree with a comment about getting Malaria again (wouldn’t wish that upon anyone!) @Concerned – I do see where you are coming from, and they should add another judge to the panel and yes an afro American, but then wouldn’t the asian, chinese communities etc seem underappreciated. I think it’s a good idea though. Also as people have said a million times, the judges are told who to put thru. Celebrities are indeed put in the public domain, but I don’t think that means they should be publically vilified. We are all entitled to an opinion, but we should learn to express our opinions in a decent way. Namecalling to me is never a good characteristic to have.

It is not “name-calling” to call an action taken by someone “racist”. Unfortuiantely the word itself has become something akin to a cuss, but this is bcause attempts have been made to extirpate it from ordinadry language usage, much in the way that in George Orwell’s book 1984, certain words were banned to dumb down the general population.
When I use the term I use it only a technical way to describe a form of behaviour that I believe I have oberved in others. It is not to cuss someone out or deride them in any way. I mean only to make sense of what it is they are doing. It is no more than to say I believe X person is stressed or Y person has anger management issues. I do not hate Cherykl because I see she often sidelines blacks. It is a matter of fact statement.
I don’t believe the judges are told who to put through. I believe they might be given some guidance on this but that’s as far as it goes. Cherly l9oved Cher and Katie and forgot about Gamu. End of story. This is typically what happens to blacks and anyone who is not black will not have experienced it to really understand it.
Blacks will typically have no problem with an Asian judge or a judge of any other ethnic minority. If anything they tend to be less inclined to sideline blacks than whits because they too have known what it’s like to be idelined. So fine, bring out the Asian judges.

can i just say how ridiculous this all is? Cheryl is a judge on the X Factor because she knows what she is doing. Fact. She has won every series she has participated in, once with a black girl. Fact. Her decisions may have angered a lot of people, but saying that they are racially motivated is absolutely disgusting, and it’s literally clutching at straws. The fact is, Gamu wasn’t what the X Factor is looking for. She had a nice voice, she wasn’t a star. In this day and age, you need somebody who is ready to show attitude, who is ready to be a non-conformist and who is ready to break the mould. Katie is an act who will divide the nation, and as Cheryl said ‘love her or hate her, you’ll have your opinion.’ It’s what they want in a show like this. Acts like Katie make things interesting. Gamu could sing, there’s no doubt. But would she sell records? Today’s market would tear her apart. The typical strong ballad-suited voice is five years out of date, nowadays we want someone in the market who is fresh. Cheryl saw Cher and thought instantly that she had what it takes. Cheryl, in my opinion, also sees a bit of herself inside Cher. As for the racist comment, I find it absolutely disgusting that anyone would dare make such serious allegations based upon the fact that the act they like wasn’t put through! Were you blind? Cheryl’s best friend was sat with her. Surely a racist wouldn’t condone a black person sitting on her sofa? Let alone a mixed raced man in her bed! Last year, neither Joe, Lloyd nor Rikki were black. There were plenty of black singers in Cheryl’s category in 2009 also, but did she pick them? No she didn’t, and it didn’t spark a race row like this either. Also, I’ve seen people relating this to Annastasia’s breakdown in 2008, in which she was sent home due to her performance in front of Cheryl. Whilst this is true, Cheryl felt so passiontely about Cher in the first audition that she was certain to go through regardless. Annastasia wouldn’t have had such a good performance even if she had sung well. TreyC Cohen messed up her high notes in Ave Maria, going completely off key at the top. Personally, Cheryl’s decisions were right. You might not agree with me, but Cheryl is the judge and she is there for a reason.
Absolutely spot on!! I thought Ave Maria was off key…we have seen the Treyc – style contestant before (a poor man’s Leona). I do think Katie was a mistake, but the racist comments are disgusting. Why people feel they have to pull the race card is beyond me…it drives me insane!
If Cheryl had put through Rebecca, Treyc AND Gamu..surely they would have cancelled each other out? Rebecca is a bit different, she has a really soulful voice.

I couldn’t agree with you more concerning the scenario that Gamu, TreyC and Rebecca had all been put through. And then, I suppose, had we dared to question why a white girl had not been put through, we would be condemned for our ignorance! It’s ridiculous.
Personally, I like Katie. I can understand why people will dislike her – she’s been given the benefit of the doubt one too many times. However, underneath all this drama, Katie is genuinely talented, possibly one of the best voices this year. I think Cheryl has what it takes to unearth this, just like we’ve seen her do in previous years.
And as you said, she has won the X Factor the last 2 years. She obviously knows what she is doing!!

It was not a mistake Cheryl knew what she was doing she has grown too big for her boot and her head has grown out of proportion due to oversized hair extensions.

I am so shocked that Gamu didnt get through, her version of ‘walking on sunshine’ has been stuck in my head for days I love her!! But as we know there is a twist and she will be back………….I dont think either Rebecca, Cher or Katie were strong enough to be rejected and then asked back when the judges clearly know that they will all be allowed an extra act through this year.
Tracy is a defo no for me though, she is very cocky and is not original whatsoever, there is just no gap in the market for her.
Cher’s first performance was amazing. She owned the stage. Second performance showed her limitations. Third performance she was ill. Katie also failed to perform this time. Gamu has shone through all her performances and it was wrong that Cheryl shattered her dreams by picking her favorites and ignored what she was supposed to consider. She shouldn’t be a judge if she isn’t going to be fair.

I have never seen where a student one who did not take an examination passes the examination based onthe lecturers emotional state.

Even if she is brought in after this experience which has obviously affected her self worth seen that merit means nothing to Cheryl and ITV I still think this incident should be investigated for RACISM.

Hacker, SPOT ON. The Equality Act has just been implemented so I will be briefing a lawyer to take this matter to court. No one should be discriminated against on the grounds of race, religion, or even status. So you cannot discriminate against someone because the person did not bleach their hair or look like a drug addict or that the person had not attitude and moreso if the person met the main criteria which is to be able to sing well and perform. OFCOM please step in or we shall go to court. If Cheryl has any shred of decency left she should resign even if Cowell man crawls on his belly pleading that she should not leave.

No, this was not a case of Cheryl not getting it that Gamu had talent. She left Gamu out precisely because she KNEW she had enough talent to beat her beloved Cher. What she didn’t vouch for was the fury that would be unleashed becauise of her actions. She made the ghastly mistake of thinking (no doubt) that her sleight of hand would remain hidden and everyone (who mattered) would come to see that she had made “the right choice”.
In this she seriously the groundswell of public opinion in support of the Zimbabwean. She thought, perhaps, that because she was African, no one would care all that much. Boy, did she have another thought coming! HNo w;’ere living ina different age, an age in which no one is sidelined, never mind where they are from.

Quite frankly I was and am appalled by the decision to put both Cher and Katie through. Gamu and TrayC have beautiful voices whilst both Katie and Cher are wailing screeching cats who I would cross the road to AVOID hearing sing. There is something odd here certainly, it was so blatant you do start to wonder if it was racism or even jealousy. One thing I do know is that the British public (by and large) is NOT racist and most of us hate it. Goodbye Katie and Cher, you will both be deservedly kicked out at the earliest opportunity and your mentor deservedly humiliated. If it was about a visa then Cheryl should have been stronger and at least forced the show to tell the truth.

One a so called racists judge, or a judge looking to win the X Factor. Don’t forget this is judges workplace and office politics are high at this stage of the competition i.e. judges are looking for their winning act that will win them the competition.
Gamu has a fantastic and outstanding voice, the talent is absolutely there. And I cannot understand why Cole couldn’t connect with that. Or was it the image and persona of Gamu, Cole didn’t like. Was it down to can I market her and does Gamu as a commercial entity sell records? Who knows. Look at artist in the market place the wierdos like Lady Ga Ga, I don’t think Ga Ga is a naturally talented singer. However, it’s her absolute outrageous nature that sells records, and it’s people like this who challenge our conventional conception of music i.e. you don’t need natural singing ability to make it as a “pop star” that’s why they are “artist” the ability to be creative. Who knows what was going through Coles’ mind?
Vein world, but Cheryl Cole was discriminative. Whether racists that is questionable? UK is a diverse and multi-cultural nation with different cultures. The problem is people do not accept difference. Difference in cultural attitudes. UK is institutionalised and discriminates “DIFFERENCES”. Sure we say we’re a tolerant country B.S. Gamu mother is from Zimbabwe and naturally raised differently. Like most of us ethnic minorities born and raised here I think English attitudes show utter contempt for people with different cultural up bringing and therefore make zero effort to exchange cultural knowledge. Therefore zero effort to truly appreciate people from other cultural backgrounds.
Hence does Cole have enough knowledge about peoples’ cultural background to connect with and understand them.

Tell me why she allowed two white contestants through who broke down during theur auditions when she refused to let a black contestant through to the final last year for the reason…that she broke down at her audition. Tell me why she stopped a contestant (Gamu) reaching the last 12 when Gamu was one of the bookies top TWO favorites to win the contest. If it isn’t racism, it’s a dan good imitation! I could not believe it when Cheryl left out Gamu and chose Cher and Katie. I remember thinking that she was an idiot. How could she not put her in? Even if you removed Gamu from the selection, I still would have been shocked at her choices over the other girls she left out. The audition is based on your performance and everyone is under the same pressure to perform. But the ones who didn’t perform went through. It should not have been based on what they did last week or the fact that you are fond of someone. I believe she knew exactly what she was doing when she left Gamu out. I don’t think it was the producers who told her to do it but I think they are covering for her as we have caused all this fuss. I think most of us will be curious to see X Factor just to see what happens next, which is what X Factor wants for the viewing figures but I think that we should watch the show but not vote because this is where they will lose money. Cheryl Cole cannot sing and for those who said she is a Judge so she must know something because she won her last two shows. Sorry, she is a Judge because Simon Cowell fancies her. And she won her last two shows because they give her the strongest acts. This is why Gamu, Treyc etc are in her group just to guarantee her success. I think this was planned to create this fuss, and then the magic wildcard comes into force. Then Gamu comes back and we go mad voting for Gamu and ‘hey presto’ Cheryl wins for a third time.
All planned to make her bigger still and to impress the USA Fox bosses who are not too sure about her and I think they should think again and put a big star on instead. If this had happened in America there would have been a public outcry. But it has gone wrong, X Factor is a fix. Hopes she gets dropped from USA X Factor because she only wants to use Fox to elevate her career. Bring on Nicole Scherzinger, besutiful, talented and judges FAIRLY. The one thing Cheryl was not.

One form of (possibly unconscious) racism is to deny that someone is acting in a racist manner when this ia patently obvious to others. Of course sometimes that’s just ignorance but racism deniers are guilty to an extent of contributing to the problem by insisting that blacks who see racism are just deluded. As though they are so dumb and theiu opinions don’t count. Just because blacks are understandably sensitive about racism, it doesn’t mean they are wrong about it. Why should their opinions not count?
Racism, much like hypocrisy, has a certain unmistakable smell to it. The victims sof racism are not stupid. They know it when they see it, but part of the whole attitude of racial superiority is to deny that what a person sees as racism really is racism.
