Hayley Evetts, From Pop Idol To X Factor
Pop Idol finalist, Hayley Evetts, has decided to audition for this years X Factor after being dropped from the Grease stage show to make way for the winner of Grease Is The Word.
A pal said: “Hayley has spent the last year and a half in Grease and she had nothing to lose, so she thought she’d go for it.”
Hayley recently sang at the launch party for Grease Is The Word and has been involved in three other reality TV shows.

There is a danger in the X factor and programmes similar
to it that established artists and professionals are now
enticed to take part.
I am not saying they shouldn’t, you could say there is also
a danger in seeing an increasing number of graduate students
from the arts and the schools who charge high fees to train
todays wanabe professionals. Removing the need to really
learn the craft through live work.
If these programmes lose out on there vast appeal and then
get axed it is because the normal viewer will see themselves a
as having been missed out.
A reality based talent show is meant to encourage the finding
of talent amongst the ordinary working class social groups in
Britain, giving them an opportunity they might not otherwise
have. As we don’t live in an equal class free society.
It is my contention that the television companies need to
come up with an idea similar to Soap star superstar for these
artists from already running and established shows whether on
stage or screen. This would then leave the reality based talent
finding shows as the means by which ordinary people who can
not afford-stage schools and professional University music
courses a means to move forward via the same peer group
competition.
