Louis Walsh shows the audience Irish charm

Found via our readers on Twitter, some excellent footage of lovely Louis Walsh giving a two-fingered salute to X Factor audience members who dared to boo at Jedward.

As we all know, Louis has become increasingly unhinged during this series of X Factor, not only for choosing the twin terrors in the first place, but by sticking by them through each travesty they call a performance.

This weekend, Walshie has been especially charming – he basically told Dermot O’Leary to shut up because he wasn’t a judge, merely a lowly presenter. Then a member of the public phoned Xtra Factor and he told her that there was “a reason I’m a judge and you’re sitting at home watching this on your TV”. Total egomaniac.

I don’t know what’s going on with Crazy Louis, I’m just hoping that when his head explodes, it happens on-screen.

    Outstanding photo.

To be fair to Louis, he did apologise to the caller. I think he was in the right to take a shot at Dermot. All of the acts have a defender in the form of their mentor. Dermot was just trying to be like Ryan Seacrest who tries to be an advocate for the contestants on American Idol (where they are on their own against the criticism of judges). If X-Factor producers wanted a Seacrest-like person, they would have hired Ryan Seacrest, not a low-rent imitation.

What an arsehole cannot stand him, so what he’s a judge! of what basically amounts to a variety show, he’s own acts are crap have no creativity ie write their own songs !!!!!! so who the hell is he to judge sack him take him down a few pegs. evil weazel

  3. Mrs O says:

Leave Dermot alone!!!! What Louis did was wrong – he is ignorant and if you agree with him then you are as low as he is!! X-factor is a farce this year and all the judges are more concerned about themselves than the contestants. The show is not what it once was about – Singing!!

Dermot is lovely and louis is losing it. poor guy is going to be absolutely penniless by the end of this years x-factor (must be him voting for jedward to keep them in lol).

Louis is definitely not like his old self. Maybe he thinks being more moody and annoying like simon is a good marketing ploy, personally he just looks bitter!

Hasn’t Dannii just shone this year, compared to ‘the other three witches from Macbeth’. She still manages to give criticism about people, hitting wrong notes/tone in voice, etc, without sounding like a baby that dropped her toy

    • I thoroughly approve of this comment! I don’t think there’s been enough chatter about how good Dannii’s been this series. I’ve been really impressed with her, and I do feel she’s been shafted with the tactics the other judges are using.

And I do think Cheryl’s over-elaborate dresses make a statement about where she sees herself in relation to Dannii.

  9. Graham says:

Louis had every right to criticise Dermot. Louis is a judge, Dermot isn’t.. end of! Also, I think people should take into consideration that Louis has had a tough couple of weeks.

    • laura says:

yes he has had a tough couple of weeks for sure. but whats the deal with him insulting the audience and insulting a live caller? if he needs a break, then take some time off! im sure alot of people would be glad to see him go.

  10. Robert van den Heuvel says:

The week before Dermot O’Leary told Louis to shut up! Not basically but literally.

All I see is a V for victory sign.

  11. laura says:

the whole pont in the matter is. louis walsh is taking things too far and hes just getting too blooody smart for his own good. i think its time simon started looking at other possible judges to fill that mans seat. saying that to dermott is one thing. but sticking his fingers up to the audience is another. if there was no audience , there wouldnt be a show, simple as that. he should start showing some respect and get off his fucking high horse. loser

  12. Sam says:

Louis was told to shut up the week before by Dermot and then following week Dermot tries again to belittle Louis cause he probably thinks it will gain him favour with Simon which he seems to crave. Louis was right to say what he said to Dermot, was right to do the V to the idiots in the audience who shout ridicule at two harmless teenage boys. Louis has always been know to defend and support his acts no matter what. He does look sad of late but that obviously has to do with the loss of his best friend Stephen Gatley & Nick from Westlife’s Dad recently also.
Also, bear in mind, Simon & Louis have been freinds for many many years on and off TV and are both equally talented in making a show a show
