It’s X Factor….Why Are They Miming?
I am watching the final twelve X Factor acts perform their new charity single, Help For Heroes.
The first thing that struck me was how polished it was and what a great effect they had on Eoghan’s voice….wait a minute…..effect? They couldn’t possibly be miming. But they are!
Surely X factor is a singing contest, not a lip syncing contest.
Even Girls Aloud sang live on the show last week but the final twelve X Factor acts, who should be amongst the most talented in the country can’t even sing a live song between them.
I feel kind of let down now……

Why were Daniel and Ruth not performing the song on the Saturday results show?
We noticed that too. I will drop the XF publicists a line and get back to you
Daniel was I heard him, you just didn’t see him.
They might have been syncing but I don’t think they did any studio work on their voices.
ruth was there with scott but where was daniel it was a live performance surley that is not going to help the sales as people will think that it is not all the finalists and something should be mentioned why daniel did not perform. I will watch the official video on monday when the single is release in the shops and then hopefully we will see daniel
if they were miming, who lip synced over the sections dan and ruth missed? wouldnt that have been obvious? (unless i just missed it? (-:)
So obvious they mimed. Ruth and Daniels part were covered by Laura and Austin and austin has such a distinct voice and thats why it sounded nothing like him singing in the middle part of the song.
Lampie, That was Laura with Scott, not Ruth, Ruth and Daniel were “locked” out of the stage, the doors weren’t opening or something, Simon Cowell told eveyone at the start of Xtra Factor, I only noticed that Ruth wasn’t there and thought maybe it’s because she is Spanish, but then realised Daniel wasn’t there either, also didn’t like the miming and was a fan of Eoghan until I saw him in his Man U shirt, he’s getting too smarmy and all Irish singers sound the same!!!!
erm it does sound like austin in the middle of the song i dunno why people think its daniels voice n if so then where is ruths voice?? if they mimed they are all very good at it cos i didnt think they were miming at all just thought it was a v good performance
Wrong they were not miming it was because Eoghan sang about a few millseconds late with the accompanied electric backing vocals recorded.
you could then hear a lag proving that there were two layers of vocals plus in the single there is a variance so that there was no miming

listen to alexandra’s second passage was supposed to be Ruth.. listen to it you can hear both voices although ruth was locked back! Proof it was too live aswell! And some bits you can hear the raw liveness

I duun wot to believe. X factor is a con i feel cus I know someone who entered and had cd’d out but was told by pre judges that he was good but only the real crap and very ggod get to see the real panel. All rigged. How do we know who was voted out, can’t belive that either will the rigged votin g that has been going on. only watch to see Dannii’s chest

Another face why it was mimed;
You could see the audience clapping, but couldn’t hear it…
The answer is it was both, they were miming and singing live. They was singing along to their recorded version that could possibly have been cos the two that were missing. Thats why we could hear the effects thats added on in the mixing and mastering stages of a record. Effects like reverb and chours. Not hearing the audience clapping is nothing to do with miming it just meant we didnt have any ambient studio mics in the mix.
They were miming – no doubt at all. Simon did say after the performance that Ruth and Daniel were missing from the performance because a door jammed or some such. So – that explains both why you could hear their part but not see them and why they were not on stage. It’s not a conspiracy guys, just an organisational glitch – they are allowed them on a live show. Also, as the recording is for charity, I think it’s fair enough that they wanted it to sound the best it could to maximise sales. Imagine how many people would have wanted to buy it if it was an almighty cock-up, which it could have been if two of the singers couldn’t actually get on stage to perform. Give them a break! By the way – just how did Daniel survive this week. I think Louis’ tears were because of the guilt he felt at voting out the better singer of the two purely to get at Simon.
Daniel is still odds on to go out next. They’ll be calling him Houdini not Ricky if he manages to stay in next week.
i think it is stupid if they were miming coz av got ma heart set on going on that show and if they’re letting the contestants lip syncing then that is stupid, oh well am still going on next year
It was live i was there and trust me it was AMAZING I love it but yes Daniel and Ruth got stuck behined the door poor them!!!! and when alexandra sang u could hear ruth

i didnt think there was any miming going on until i heard Girlband sing. they sounded a bit too good for them. thats when i really paid attention and you could see the blatant miming. Very disappointed as the whole point of the show is to find people who are the best singers and there are some great ones this year. Mime on the video not a live show!!
