Jason Derulo wants judging role on X Factor America

American R&B star Jason Derulo has revealed that he would love a role on Simon Cowell’s new X Factor America series.

The `Ridin’ Solo’ singer admitted that he enjoyed his recent appearance on American Idol, especially after Simon Cowell told him he would be ‘absolutely astronomical’ in his music career.

He told the Daily Star: “I would love Simon Cowell to give me a call and get me on American X Factor as a guest mentor.

“I appeared on the last series of American Idol and I got the chance to meet Mr Cowell then, so I’m pretty excited about X Factor starting in the US in 2011.”

He continued: “Simon said some really nice things to me while I was on stage, then saw me backstage and said some amazing things. He was like, ‘That is how you do it’, then told me that I was going to be ‘absolutely astronomical’. It was pretty cool coming from him.

“So Simon, if you’re reading this, I’d just like to say I’d relish the chance to mentor the contestants. I love being around young, creative people.”

Jason has some great contacts in the industry and we think his mentor Kara DioGuardi, who up until last month sat next to Cowell on the Idol panel, would be happy to put in a good word for him.
