Jason Manford loves Gary Barlow but thinks X Factor’s Tulisa and Cheryl Cole are ‘equally pointless’!
Jason Manford has hit out at X Factor stars Cheryl Cole and Tulisa Contostavlos, saying that the ladies are both ‘equally pointless’ and unqualified to judge other people’s musical talent.
The former One Show host – who was forced to step down from the show after being outed as having online sex sessions with a fan last year – hit out at the singers, saying that they don’t have enough ‘knowledge or experience’ to pass comment on other peoples skills.
He blasted:
“To me they’re equally as pointless really.
“I feel a judge needs to be a place of knowledge and experience.
“I think Gary Barlow, Simon and Louis Walsh have that, but the female ones… I think, really?
“You have to know both sides of the fame game and Cheryl and Tulisa don’t have that.”
We were with Jason, right up until he brought Louis Walsh into it. Surely he is the biggest lame duck of all?
Manford is watching this year’s series of the ITV show and thinks Gary Barlow is doing a great job as Simon Cowell’s replacement. He loves his honesty with hopefuls and added:
“He’ll tell someone they’re crap and enjoys that more than telling someone they’re brilliant.”
Now, before you all come in defending your favourite star against Jason’s rant, have a watch of the video below. In it you will see Tulisa performing on the recent Children In Need show on BBC One. Her vocals aren’t great, she looks nervous and has zero stage presence throughout. Is she really what we’re holding up as an example of greatness for young stars wanting to enter the music industry?

I think Tulisa’s doing well to date, she really gives great decisions in her category, nice song choices, nice sets. And hey, they’re all here not for the sing-off, they’re here for being a mentor. As far as I’m concerned, unlike Tulisa, Gary had given a bunch of bad song choices, being hypocrite, and attacking all the other contestants aside from his boys. I like Take That, but I’m disgusted seeing him giving blunt comments on the acts for weeks.
