Jermain Defoe has admitted he’d love to appear on Strictly Come Dancing – mostly because he fancies getting all lycra’d up.

Jermain told MSN: “I think I might want to do Strictly, maybe The X Factor, I’m not too sure yet – Strictly is wicked I’d love to do that, I like the clothes.”

However Imogen Thomas, who is currently dating the England footballer,didn’t seem so keen. She said: “I’m not doing Strictly, I don’t like those costumes, not if he’s wearing one – I love the girls ones but not the guys.”

The pair also revealed that they are unsure about the new X Factor format.

Jermain said: “Oh man it’s hard – it’s hard for the contestants and that first audition in front of all those people… but there’s talent, so the best person will win.”

Imogen added: “Oh yeah, it’s gone like America though hasn’t it? It’s a bit too American now – they should have kept it as it was before I think. I like Simon Cowell’s straight talking.”

Jermain laughed: “I think he’s a lech – everyone loves him!”
