JLS ‘humbled’ by visit to teen cancer patients
X Factor stars JLS have said that they were “humbled” after a visit to teenage cancer patients in London’s University College Hospital last week.
Singer Oritsé Williams told The Sun: “We saw some brave, incredible children who all shared the same positive, courageous spirit. It really made us appreciate life so much.
“We are so happy to be supporting them by performing at the Teenage Cancer Trust show. We were humbled and are going to help to make a difference.”
19-year-old patient Gurpreet Bhanya met the boys and said: “Meeting JLS was awesome. We spoke about my studies and my treatment. They were really lovely and caring.”
Billy Gilbody, 14, added: “They spent a lot of time talking to me and were really interested in what I had to say. They really cheered me up.”
A carer joked: “There was a real buzz when JLS came in – I think some of the nurses were more excited than the kids!”
