Such a frenzy surrounds the JLS boys, that they have had to shell out for ex-SAS security guards to protect them for over zealous fans.
The Mirror reports that the band were forced to hire the burly guards after near riots outside their hotels.
“Things were getting out of hand, it was scary,” said a band source. “No-one realised how big their following would be or how extreme their behaviour would get.”
The insider added: “Police have had to be called in for riots at gigs and their hotels are surrounded by fans.
“Some tried to break into rooms dressed as maids or turn on fire alarms to get the boys out of bed. So it was decided to get the best in the business and hire some ex-SAS.”
Aston Merrygold said: “You can’t say you’re ever going to get used to girls screaming at you everywhere you go.
“These days, we get out of a car and for no reason girls just start screaming. On stage when the vibe’s right it can be ten times as loud. I don’t think we’re ever going to be ready for that.”
