X Factor singer Joe McElderry has revealed that he has received lots of fan support since his audition was aired on Saturday night.

Joe wowed the audience and judges alike with his version of Luther Vandross’s ‘Dance With My Father.’

McElderry told The Shields Gazette: “The support has been fantastic. There have been people staring at me in the street and someone even asked for my photograph.”

He continued: “It was crazy, I was on for ages! I watched the show with my family at my house, then went to a friend’s and watched it again. I don’t want to watch it anymore, though, because I know I’ll pick it apart.

“I loved the fact they said I was from South Shields, because I’m proud of where I come from.”
