X Factor winner Joe McElderry has revealed that his mentor Cheryl Cole has made an effort to stay in touch since the show ended.

‘Cheryl texts me all the time,’ he told Now magazine. ‘She said, “If you ever have a moment where you have a bit of a wobble… just give me a ring.”

‘I feel like if I was having a crisis or something, I could phone Cheryl.’

He added:

‘We chat all the time – late night, mornings, whenever,’ he adds. ‘I think we’ll still be friends in ten years’ time.’
