Joe McElderry to perform with Girls Aloud on X Factor final 2009?
A rumour has been doing the rounds on various X Factor forums today, suggesting that Girls Aloud have been lined up to perform on the X Factor final should Joe McElderry make it through.
Now this is COMPLETELY UNCONFIRMED, but some have suggested that the girl group would sing the James Morrison hit Broken Strings. The girls have performed the track with James before (see video above) on their TV show last year and on tour.
We’d love to know what you think of this rumour and whether you think the duet would work. If it does go ahead, wouldn’t it be great if all the finalists did a collaboration with their mentor? We’d love to see Simon Cowell croon.

hahah ya simon doing a duet with his boys hahahah. I think that would be cool though, he would do really well on this song although I don’t know how well it would show off his voice becuase he can hit a lot higher notes than this song would allow him but he could also make it his own and than it would be good, but overall i think that would be great!

If Joe gets to the final and this proves to be true, it will hugely reduce his chances of winning. But hey, considering he shouldn’t win – I’m all for it. Girl’s Aloud cannot sing – fact, Joe is musical theatre. Musical theatre + tone deaf cats = very bad, and considering the people who vote for the final is 10 times more than average weeks, it wont look good.
If Danyl gets to the final, which he should, he should get a big soulful singer and together they’re voices should easily win it for him.

Joe is amazing and can duet with anyone i mean the kid can sing the phone book and make it sound awesome!!! Joe to win!!!
Apperently George Michael has been lined up for the final night and personally id prefer to see him perform “dont let the sun go down on me” with Joe than broken strings with girls aloud and i actually like girls aloud version of broken strings, but i dont think it would do him any justice.
I think Stacy should perform “The Scientist” with Coldplay, Olly with Robbie not sure the song though…and not sure about Danyl i dont really like him so im not bothered.
