John and Edward Grimes: ‘We’re like frosted flakes’

X Factor contestants John and Edward Grimes seem to have taken Simon Cowell’s criticisms of them on the chin. In fact in an interview with The Daily Star, they admitted that they don’t care if Cowell doesn’t like them, they think they’ll make the live final anyway.
Edward told the newspaper:
“We are like frosted flakes. Some people just feel uncomfortable about admitting that they love us.”
John said: “We’re not trying to be cute. We’re just cool.”
When asked why they thought Simon was so tough on them, Edward said:
“We’re not showbiz kids. We’ve never been to stage school or had any formal vocal training like most of the contestants have, so it’s tougher for us.”
Edward explained: “We are getting much better and we’ve got so much more to give. We want people to get to know who we are.
“That first audition was not as extravagant as we wanted it to be and next time we are going to be stepping it up with some dance moves and singing.”
