Journey South Release New Album ‘Home’
Journey South have come a long way since being runners-up in ITV’s X Factor show. The down-to-earth brothers saw their debut album ‘Journey South’ enter the charts at No.1 selling a massive 220,000 copies in it’s first WEEK, and going on to sell over half a million copies just in the UK. A 41 date sell-out Headline Tour followed, along with the birth of a new baby for younger brother Carl Pemberton.
It’s now however time for the next phase with the release of their highly anticipated new album ‘Home’ out 30th October.
‘Home’, a collection of tender ballads, infused with pop and rock influences, will have Journey South fans and music lovers surprised and excited. A diverse ensemble of hits, which features a number of distinctive heartfelt songs including;
‘What I Love About Home’, which oozes passion, soul and depth, a delightful mix of soothing guitar solos and powerful vocals and heartfelt lyrics about all the things you miss when away from home.
‘End Of The World’ a beautiful ballad which emphasises their distinctive melodic harmonies and highlights once again their captivating vocals and extraordinary talent.
The album also shows Journey South in a different light, reflecting a grittier, rockier side of the boys, opening up the gateway to a whole new audience.
‘Gone One Day’ and ‘I’ll Be Your Desire’, are true examples of their new sound, slightly darker and more upbeat contagious pop/rock songs.
Andy Pemberton sums up the bands feelings “We really appreciate the great stepping stone the X Factor gave us and the chance to have a No.1 album and get so many great fans. The new album ‘Home’ though, is the reason why we’ve been gigging and playing as a band for the last 10 years. This album is a true reflection of us as a band and we are so proud of the songs we’ve written and recorded here and hope our fans feel the same”
The album is produced by Carl Falk (Celine Deon, Westlife, Ana Johnson) and Samuel Wearmo (Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Clay Aitken)
The boys have written or co-written 11 of the 12 songs. Co-writers include Chris Braide (Darren Hayes, Will Young), Steve Robson (Rascal Flatts, Take That), Quiz and Larossi (IL Divo, Westlife ), Graham Stack and Cliff Masterson (Kylie, Leanne Rimes, Tina Turner).
