Kate Nash Criticises X Factor

X Factor LogoKate Nash has hit out at ITV reality TV series The X Factor, which is due to launch later this month.

“To me, The X Factor is like junk food. No one who goes on that show wants to be a musician, no one is an actual artist. People go on because they want to be famous,” Kate told The Mirror. “They’re not thinking: ‘I want to go into the studio and record my own songs that I’ve written.’

“They want to be told how to sing, how to dance, how to look, what to record and what to say. It’s scary that kids these days want to be famous and lead that disgusting celebrity lifestyle that goes with it.”

Although I agree with some of this, she
obviously did’nt watch the last series, or she would’ve
seen BEN MILLS who IS a musician and DOES write his own
songs. His album ‘Picture of You’ has 5 tracks that he wrote
    or co -wrote.

Well well. Who is KATE NASH?

    Is KATE NASH for real?

OK so the majority will be non singers and none musicians but a good 10 to 20 % of the entrants are.

A comment with regards to the critique expressed that it is frightening that these kids just seem to want fame and fortune, well well then KATE you could try busking to earn enough to pay for your studio time or maybe like the rest of us real singers and real musicians look to be engaged musically in your region after that there is always a talent show you can try your luck with.

A secondary commment about wanabes wanting to be taught how to sing etc, this is a very good place for all to start at. But there is nothing more interesting to hear a talent in the raw. After all at one time a tutor would tell the individual whether tuition would useful to them or not on the basis of hearing the raw talent.

Having just heard you this week Kate Nash, you sound like you have no talent at all and certainly can’t sing. I should get some lessons if you intend to last the test of time.
