Katrina Lee has liposucion for X Factor
An Irish woman has undergone drastic cosmetic surgery, in a bid to succeed at this year’s X Factor.
Katrina Lee first auditioned for the show in 2004 but was told by Simon Cowell and his fellow judges that she didn’t have the right image. What Simon really meant, was that she didn’t have boobs up to her chin and waist length, peroxide blonde hair.
Simon even went as far to say that Katrina may be marketable if they put her voice in someone else’s body. Who says he wasn’t harsher in the old days?
“When [Simon] first heard me sing he said he wished he could put my voice in somebody else’s body,” Katrina told the Derry Journal.
“Since then I’ve had laser treatment and liposuction and I’ve come back a new person. When he saw me this time he said I was a good-looking girl. I went through so much after his comments the last time. I was 18 and they really hit me hard.
“Now I’m delighted. [I've] been through a lot, including facial surgery. I’ve gone to every extreme to get to this point.”
Katrina has also admitted that Simon’s comments almost wrecked her life and left her battling eating disorders for years afterwards.
And she came back for a second time? That sort of experience would put most people off for life!

Why should your image matter to that extent, its your voice
that is heard when you are listening to an album. I wouldn’t

It shouldn’t stop anyone giving the industry a go, remember though facial work could spoil the voice.
Katrina obviously wants this more than anything and has gone out to get it by the means she has available to her.
With her drive and determination I am sure she will do well and lets hope she has some intelligence and doesnt go on and on with surgery or fall foul to industries well know problems such as drugs and alcohol problems especially of the young stars

I know Katrina and picked her in a local audition back then and agree, she looked just fine 5 years ago. However she has done what she thinks is best and she certainly has a pop star look now. Anyway her voice will blow you away, just watched the video of that audition, wow she was fantastic back then, I’m sure shes even better now. Rock on Katrina, canny wait to see you on the show.
I personally think she buckled. People shouldnt care what they look like if they have a great voice, she caved in to the stereo typical celebrity pressure, this is the kind of thing that shouldnt happen, it makes young women worry. If she had stayed the way she was she would be a great role model, now she is just one of simons little sex girls.

This is a very extreme a make over which includes a hair do, the correct use of make-up and maybe teeth whitening, is as extreem as it should get. It is evil to suggest anything else for a singer unless the health of the individual is at risk.
It therefere seems that todays generation haven’t got to be artists at all but sex gods and glamouir queens. A real shame voices can be sacrificed like this for the sake of what one person or the media conceives to be the perfect physique.

i am appalled that girls will go to such lengths as to having surgery done because morons like simon cowell say they havent the right image..its no wonder youngsters today are bulemic.. anorexic…having surgery with all these negative comments…its doing nothing for their confidence to here all these remarks it makes my blood boil…
thats so sad, i know that simon is honest and all that but sometimes his comments can be unnecessarily rude and you can see the contestants are really hurt. obviously she really wants to chase this dream if she would go to all this trouble and i hope the judges pick up on that.
When you’re “famous” like girls aloud, or any other terrible band like that, you have to lose yourself and become a product rather than a person. You are now an image, you’re no longer real. Everyone saw cheryl coles audition and I’m sure you’ll all agree she was not very talented at all. She had a pretty face.. So image can make or break your career, if the industry sees you as “ugly” then you have no hope.
why change yourself so much, just to turn yourself into another one of these clones?? I am 27 and im over weight and def not pretty… but if i could sing.. and my voice was that good.. no way in hell would i change myself!! Look at some of the older singers that the judges always refer to.. aretha franklin..etc.. even adele from now days… all big but beautiful women and have gone on to have fantatsic careers…. this attitude against bigger, not so attractive people has to stop.. when you buy a cd do you buy it to listen to it? or look at it??
