Katy Perry blasts The X Factor & The Voice and it’s old, out of date judges!

Katy Perry has hit out at talent shows and their judges, saying that many of the people supposed to be finding new stars have no idea about the current music industry.

The ‘I Kissed A Girl’ singer was hotly tipped to be joining the X Factor UK panel this year, in place of Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger, however it sounds like she’s not a big fan of the TV genre as it currently stands.

Perry once guest judged on the ITV series when Dannii Minogue was on maternity leave and admitted in an interview that she has been approached about joining the lineup of one series – she failed to mention which one – recently, but it was an offer she declined.

On why she didn’t want to be part of the hunt for a new singing star, Katy said she preferred to concentrate on her own career and had ‘ideas for two or three big, creative things’ she needed to work on.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the brunette beauty admitted that she’s ‘not opposed’ to appearing on a reality TV show in the future, but only if they hire younger judges.

She said:

‘I’m not opposed to it. I think some of those shows are better than others. I like to give constructive criticism that hopefully people can apply and find valuable.’

She added:

‘I do find it completely hilarious when they hire people that are not current in music and haven’t been for a decade or over.’

‘Or when they’re not even in music. How are you going to give a perspective when you haven’t even lived it?’

Listen up Louis Walsh, Tom Jones, Sharon Osbourne, Randy Jackson….we think she’s talking about you!

Do you agree with Katy? Do programme bosses need to think more about who they are hiring as coaches and judges for their shows? Leave your comments below…

Sharon Osbourne has been in music since she was 15 and she still is. She manages Ozzy, created his whole career. She’s also worked with Motorhead, Slade, ELO and many others, and has created one of the biggest and most successful summer festivals’ which is called Ozzfest, so shut up if you know nothing and if music for you is only pop.

As long as the judge is good at the job and has had experience in the music industry, I do not think it matters if the judge is not current in the music business.

Steven Tyler is a rock god, and lived it 100 times more then you will ever..
