The lineup for this weekend’s X Factor final is beginning to take shape.
We’ve already reported that One Direction and Emeli Sande would be performing, as will Australian pop star Kylie Minogue and US songstress Rihanna.
This morning it has been confirmed that joining them on the grand finale over Saturday and Sunday night will be none other than American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson and Britain’s Got Talent stars Only Boys Aloud.
The remaining three X Factor contestants – Jahmene Douglas, James Arthur and Christopher Maloney – will take to the stage over the weekend to perform for a live audience of 12,000 people, as well as millions of viewers at home.
The final will move away from London for the first time and today the team will begin travelling north, where they will start to prepare for the shows which will air from Manchester Central Arena.
Only Boys Aloud are thrilled to be given the chance to showcase their new music, which will be taken from their new Christmas album so should bring a nice touch of festivity to proceedings and choir member Rhys Slade-Jones said:
“I have to pinch myself.
“We’ve got an album out, we’re doing the X Factor final and we’re touring next year.
“Some of us have been through difficult times and been bullied. This is a safe environment.”
The group were signed to Simon Cowell’s SYCO label when BGT ended earlier this year and recently released their debut album.
Kelly Clarkson will be there to promote her greatest hits album and her new single ‘Don’t Rush.’
None of the celebrities will be singing with the finalists this year and like last year, the contestants will be taking to the stage with their mentors. Jahmene and James will perform with Nicole and have already been rehearsing their duets and Christopher will join Take That star Gary Barlow for his collaboration.
There has been some kick up online about the guests for this year’s finale, after all One Direction have appeared on the series three times already this year and Rihanna sang on a results show only a few weeks ago.
However Kelly and Only Boys Aloud should please many fans who wanted something a little bit different…..we hope! Leave your comments below…
