Kelly Rowland sacked from X Factor UK?
It has been looking doubtful for a while that Kelly Rowland would return to her judges’ seat on The X Factor and today The Daily Mail reported that she will definitely be replaced.
It has been claimed that Simon Cowell and ITV bosses are keen to find a new star to take Kelly’s place on the 2012 series, because they believe the American star failed to connect with the public and was one of the reasons why last year’s run failed to achieve the high ratings set by the 2010 series.
After The X Factor lost out to BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing in terms of viewing figures, for most Saturday nights last autumn, it seems that producers are blaming Kelly’s lack of commitment to the show on causing at least some of the problems.
A source told the newspaper:
‘Kelly has got to go. She was not right for the show. The producers didn’t like her and her commitment level wasn’t there. There’s an understanding she didn’t work on the panel.’
Kelly recently expressed an interest in replacing Paula Abdul or Nicole Scherzinger on The X Factor USA, but we’d say she has a slim chance of landing a seat on the US panel, if she failed to impress Cowell on the British one.
It was recently reported that Simon is trying hard to convince Cheryl Cole to return as Rowland’s replacement, though her manager Will.i.am is said to be dead against the move.
Gary Barlow looks set to return for 2012, though with a hefty pay rise and insiders recently claimed that Tulisa will be back too.
Would you be happy if Kelly was replaced and if so, who would like to see filling her shoes? Leave your comments below.

Yep, I knew I was right – Kelly was useless and SO irritating
No way she shouldnt be replaced. I think she has been a fantastic judge on x factor.
If its the daily mail reporting this i wouldnt worry they arent very reliable and have printed untrue stories in the past
Bring back Dannii! I definately missed her during the last series!
Jack as much as i like dannii i dont think she will return she has moved on.
No!! Leave her in Oz where she belongs – not all of us worship at the altar of Dannii, vastly overrated and totally up her own backside imo.
Sack Gary while you’re at it
I am a Dannii Minogue fan, but she doesn’t need The X Factor anymore. The show helped Dannii raise her profile, so she should be thankful for that. However, she does not need the show anymore. She has a contract with Model Inc, her own Project D fashion and perfume range, books, Australia’s Got Talent and now more responsiblities with bringing up her son. She has already done four series, which in my opinion is enough. I am glad Dannii is not on the show anymore and I am a fan of hers, she needed to move on from it.
As for Kelly Rowland, I think it is unfair she has been given the axe if the rumours are true, considering she has only done one series. I think she should have been given another series to see how she goes. But if Kelly does go, she can hold her head up high. She experienced being a judge on the show, is a successful solo artist, is very talented and beautiful and appeared in a huge band called Destiny’s Child. Kelly has achieved lots of things in her life. Good luck to her.
I totally agree with you lucy
Sorry to be pedantic Lucy, but Project D half belongs to Tabitha, she is the designer who does most of the hard work. Minogue is just the show pony who wears the dresses on various red carpet events.
She may not need the X Factor anymore, but she certainly has a lot to thank the show for – until she joined in 2007, she was known only as Kylie’s sister.
And Ethan does have a dad you know, she isn’t bringing up on her own, she’s hardly at home for starters – she’s far too busy putting her relentless quest for fame first.
I’d rather replace them both! Kelly is brainless and Tulisa is shameless (so now I’m making poems about it!), I don’t think either of them deserve to be on XFactor.
I’d rather they replace Tulisa
I agree it should be tulisa because of the comments she made to misha b on x factor, not kelly. she has been a fantastic judge and simon would be mad to let her go.
I agree with Lucy and yes you are right Jane. I would rather replace Tulisa! Kelly did not cause any problems. If the bosses did not like her for standing with her act (Misha) after being bullied by Tulisa, then there is something wrong with those boses. Kelly went a little down after that Misha incident only because she stood by her act which is what mentors should do. Ttulisa on the other hand caused the rift by accusing an act without valid evidence to what she was saying. Kelly was brilliant and I don’t think she needs XFactor UK that much anyway!
Kelly rowland was the reason why i watched the X Factor she was brilliant !!! She was absouletly hilarious !!! I PUT IT DOWN GIRL !!!!!! x x
They better not bring cheryl cole back shes awful hate her !!!! x x
I totally agree with you. Kelly was the only reason i watched as well. If anyone should go it should be louis or tulisa. They are so annoying.
Bring back Sharon O, the original female X Factor judge – and STILL the best. At least with her on the panel it wasn’t all about what designer outfit the show ponies were wearing ie Dannii, Cheryl etc. They all loved themselves, at least Sharon is more down to earth.
Yeah right you have got to be joking. The ratings would go down even further.
Look, we all have opinions and I happen to think that the show was better in the days of Sharon, Simon and Louis. It was all about the contestants and NOT the bloody judges so-called feuds – The X Factor has become a joke and no one takes it seriously anymore.
You’re not really in a position to sneer at my comment, being a fan of the vacuous Dannii & Kelly – both plastic in personality AND body.
Kelly Rowland has indeed gone and thank goodness, she was a terrible judge, she had zero chemistry with her acts, couldnt commit 100% to the show and only thought about herself.
the days of Sharon Osbourne and Cheryl were great they had Personality and knew how to treat there acts properly,i hope the rumors are true of Cheryl coming back because the show needs big ratings and with Kelly there they went down the plughole, not even Simon wants her on the X Factor USA.
Why do people keep mixing up the artist with the judge?? It’s true, she’s a great artist, she’s got a great style and great voice and she’s a great performer and you may very well be her fan and for a good reason! But as a judge and as a mentor, I actually really think the girls would have made it better by themselves!
@ Gav Harrison, stay with your hatred for Kelly. It won’t take you anywhere love. Kelly does not need XFactor UK. As for Cheryl Cole coming back, that will make a few of us tuning off xfactor. She was annoying! Good luck with bringing back Cheryl Tweedy and good luck with the ratings. LOVE KELLY ROWLAND AND SHE WAS BRILLIANT ON XFACTOR!
Kelly Rowland was terrible the public know it,the producers knew it and Simon Cowell knew it ACCEPT IT people have there own opinions including me were entitled to them so don’t be spouting all this love garbage, she was the worst thing to happen to the x factor,to many ppl on here think the sun shone out her backside on here and comment on everyone’s post who didn’t like her, well this is a site for ppl to air there views if you don’t like them tough it’s how we personally feel and no amount of ppl bleating on about how supposedly good she is will change that, her latest album flopped that’s how good she is.
Kelly was the best thing to happen to the show last series, she was beautiful, funny, caring and had a great fun personality, she never played any games, or shamed any of the contestants publicly to get her way like Tulisa. Seriously if Kelly gets the axe out of the judges then I will be switching off for good. Kelly has a few haters, who are wishfully hoping that rumours that she’s going are true, Simon would be an utter fool to get rid of the only judge who is internationally known, come on now, Tulisa is a nobody compared to Kelly Rowland.
One last thing, I want to see Beyonce join Kelly at judges homes this year, so Kelly needs to stay, so we have a chance to see a bit of Destiny’s Child reform.
Couldnt have put it better myself stephanie.
Look, Nick. My favorite judge was Cheryl Cole and my second Danii. But this has absolutely nothing to do with why I don’t like Kelly as a judge! In fact, since I’m not from the UK so I didn’t know almost anything about Cheryl until then and neither much about Dannii also (except that she’s Kylie’s sister), I don’t think this mattered much in my likeness of Kelly. I don’t like Kelly as a judge because she’s not a good one! Had she been better than my favorite one, she would have taken her place rather than “I would have hated her because of this”, which makes absolutely no sense!!
Sephanie you are right. I also think those few people who hate Kelly do so because she is far more better than their favourite judges. We love you Kelly, you were great on xfactor last year and l won’t watch xfactor if Kelly is replaced, unless she leaves voluntarily.
I totally agree with you nick.
Oh, thank God!!
I don’t think I could have been able to bear her a second year! She can’t put two (real!) words together and she was the worst mentor possible! I mean, she started with 2 girls in top two and she somehow only managed to get a top 3 (when, in my opinion, with Janet, Amelia, Sophie and Misha, she should have had the final all to herself!) She was horrible to Janet and did not help her at all get over her nerves, she tried to make her just another cheap artist! I don’t care how good of a singer she is, nor how many albums she sold, that is not the criteria for a judge and as a judge she sucked!
Kelly was funny and far from brainless. With all of her starpower and connections she was underused. If you took her away and left the other three-Dumbfounded Louis with his spaced out act, tumultuous Tulisa and her juvenile fits and Gary who as great of a singer/writer as he is did not have command over the show like he should have. Kelly has worked hard and knows what she is talking about-look at her live performances on the show. They will be lost w/out her not vice-versa. *I just want to note that I am not an avid fan of hers, but I appreciate talent.
