Leona Lewis Rubbishes X Factor Fix Claims And Insists She Wouldn’t Sleep With Simon Cowell!
In a recent press conference, X Factor finalist, Leona Lewis has hit out at people who claim the X Factor has been fixed in her favour.
The 21-year-old said: “It makes me angry when people say the show has been fixed - it’s not at all.
“I deserve to be here. I have worked so hard at trying to improve. I give 100% every week and I really want to win,” she was reported saying.
She retorted: “I was shocked when I read that I supposedly want to bed Simon. There is no way I would sleep with him. I never said anything like that.
“He is more like a father to me than someone I would go out with. He’s about the same age as my dad too. So the thought of me going out with him is all wrong - sick.”

Actually none of the rumblings are Leonas fault, they are totally Simons fault and all blame must be laid at his door, HE has acted like no other judge before on x factor by talking up 1 of his acts even to the detriment of his own other 3 acts, he has stood and applauded after her songs and no other acts til recently, Nikita and Ashley with the songs he had them do it appeared he’d given up on them. All he has talked about is Leona and people rightly or wrongly question things sometimes, that isnt something Simon ‘gets’ as he believes he is always right and only has to speak and all listen, he himself has created problems of this gossip nature by his behaviour so massively in favour of Leona, professionalism is remaining objective,concerning Leona he has thrown that out but nothing is Leonas fault it is all ‘firmly Simons.He has been totally rediculous this year.Rod

it must be hard for Simon and all of the judges, it is un imaginable the amount of preseure that is draw to them. One mistake and they are questioned. So what if Simon had a favourtite and accidentally showed his preference for singing talent. If it was a guy no one would be calling him gay so why this??? Go Simon!!!

Who came up with that idea, a disgruntled contestant maybe or a fan of another contestant. Simon wouldn’t have come up with that no matter how badly people feel he and LOUIS have behaved and bickered throughout the heats, Simon would not have come up with this one.
Leona needs to laugh this off now and get on with her recording career. You are only young once and opportunities are few and far between in the real world of music.
Same goes for allegations of the competition being rigged, its now old news and again she needs to get on with her recording career.
Maybe the X factor production team need to hold interviews with its serious contestants in the future and hear them apart from the programme and rather than put someone through a gruelling 12 weeks or so of thinning out auditions and heats. Work out the best career path.
In Leonas case, it was obvious she had studied for at least six years, had made several demo CD’s available via the internet, written an album of her own music, done a video interview with a Channel 5 presenter and was a confident singer. The apparent shyness was due to the awareness difference she would have felt between herself and the other contestants who hadn’t done as much. Leona and family to all intensive purposes were a major investor in her career, a dividend from that would have been expected at some time in the near future.
In other words outside of the X factor it would only have been a question of time before LEONA had made a splash, and like most musicians and singers this patient route is the route that most industry mentors advocate. It is hard work and sadly sometimes it doesn’t pay off even for top quality performers. Think of all the unsigned talented singers, bands and vocal groups you have heard, who have not hit the limelight - they must have been out of luck. Made the wrong contacts, misjudged when to enter the industry made a mistake about the niche market they thought they’d fulfill.Been in the wrong place at the wrong time and for some circumstances were jsut too restrictive and prohibtive of progress. Top quality performers are not normally signed they are to expensive for the industry to promote so they restrict the number of high earning musicians and singers to a few per company eventually they become part of the recording stable providing the industry its regualr income. The rest are just run of the mill.
Artists like Leona having been interviewed, given several singing workshops could then be asked to appear as guests on the show and be offered contracts in line with the norms in the industry.
To have done anything else is bound to give rise to questions of fair play and whether the playing field was indeed level.
In addition to this Five major changes could do with being inaugurated in response to serious critics of the show.
1) Auditions should not be televised unless the contestant agrees. This should raise the standard of the televsion programme as it goes out live. The contestant being made aware that if they appear stupid they show can not be held responsible for what happens afterwards.
2) The Auditions should be run over a longer period and thinned out per region. Tutorials and workshops compulsory also compulosry per region.
3) The televised heats should allow 2 shows to run without sending anyone home. This would give contestants a chance to find there feet. It is from heat three that the lowest voted contestant should go home according to the public vote entirely.
4)I would like to see that those going home are given some financial reward for there efforts say 10p from the actual cost of each call as it accumulates week after week.
5)As I come from the NORTH EAST region, I Would like to see more of the various styles of musician or singers of Britain compete regionally against one another. Hence the show needs really prolonging to get as much in. There should also be more than one contract up for grabs.

I think Simon did end up favouring Leona at the cost of some of his other acts such as Nikkita but surely noone can deny that Leona is an amazing singer. Perhaps this wasn’t the right programme for her as once Simon had spotted her and started work on her act, the others didn’t stand a chance. She does deserve her win though so it is unfair for people to suggest she only won because Simon ‘fancied’ her. Laughable really1 Anyway we all know Simon’s in lurve with Mrs O. Lol! Shimon!!!

OOh Helen the pro LEONA brigade are a very hostle lot, no one is allowed to criticise Leona or they hurl often vile abuse at you. Leona is a great singer but we’ve only heard her sing other peoples songs THEIR way no original stamp of her own put on them and they may find she isnt really that great an all round entetainer they think and also may find it very difficult indeed to go any way to emulating the success of this single.Rod

oh my god leona really is an amazing singer probably the best in the contest. she deserved to win but i think she only acts shy if you look at her blog on the web and xtra factor the winner’s story that was on xmas eve she isn’t one bit shy but she is a fab singer and belongs in the music buisness she looks great aswell

You see Dee thats where my problem comes in I can hardly find anyone who really rates Leona YET as a truly amazing talent, many love her voice but not bowled over, I work in an environment of over 1100 people, ,very few are raving over Leona despite ranging from ages 18 to 50. People Ive found who have bought her record seem to be outnumbered by those who buy ANYTHING that gets to be a chart topper, and the newly created Xfactor winners first single buyers. She actually isnt creating the massive stir thus far and it may be she never achieves another chart topper, before you keep spouting out to those of us less than enthusiastic about her but no way denying she has a reat vocal range, you may be better to hold fire because possibly and I say possibly with the exception of the States I feel because of the hype generated to get her to win x factor we may all start to see albeit slowly a downward trnd of success for Leona once this single loses the top spot, if she doesnt record original songs soon too then that could well be hastened.She isnt a World star and I doubt in reality she ever will be, you need far more than a great voice to achieve that,she isnt that shy really but stage poise and precence she lacks in abundance and sometimes personality cant be changed.Lack of stage presence can be covered over in a group, not so in a solo artiste.
