Liam Gallagher is a One Direction fan it seems but he had a few choice words about the boys in his latest interview.

The Oasis star bumped into the boyband when they appeared at the 2012 Olympics in the summer and he admitted that they are pretty decent guys, even if they do have their ‘heads up their arses.’

Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson performed their hit single ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ at the sporting event and following in his brother Noel’s footsteps, Liam has become the latest star to criticise the X Factor stars.

“I like them,” Liam told Q when asked about 1D. “Fair play to them. Why not, man? They haven’t got a f***ing clue either. I met them at the Olympics and their heads were up their arses, but they’re harmless.”

Directioners may be up in arms about his comments but they should be glad that the fab fivesome got off pretty lightly in comparison to Mumford and Sons. Here’s what the ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ hitmaker said about that group.

“Everyone looks like they’ve got f***ing nits and eat lentil soup with their sleeves rolled up,” he teased. “They all look like they live on the heath. Maybe that’s where they record. Everyone’s f***ing Don McLean – far too many acoustic guitars, no style.

“They look like they shop at Oxfam. I wouldn’t put any posters up of any band if I was a 16-year-old lad. There’s none of that sitting down on f***ing stools for me, sweetheart.”

When he was asked about 1D recently, Noell Gallagher took a swipe at manufactured bands in general and basted:

“Back in the 90s the Top 20 was mostly bands and now it’s all manufactured pop. They have got their careers to think about, so you don’t get anybody swearing or even admitting to smoking.”

Speaking to The Daily Star he added:

“We were just being ourselves back in the day. We never brushed anything under the carpet, so to speak. If I was asked a silly question I used to give a silly answer.”

Clearly he hasn’t seen this clip!
