X Factor judge Louis Walsh has claimed that he could make Joe McElderry a multimillionaire by turning him into the new Cliff Richard. And who said that Louis Walsh wasn’t current eh?

Louis told The News Of The World: “If Joe delivers over the next two weeks he’ll walk it.

“It is his to win. He has the potential to sell millions of records – he’s like a young Cliff.”

He added: “He’s the one out of the four who comes into my dressing room every week to talk about music and doesn’t seem freaked out. He’s not chasing stardom. He doesn’t want to be a celebrity.

“Vocally he is very, very good. He is the only person who gets better all the time. He’s a really nice guy as well and the camera loves him.”

However Louis admitted that he isn’t seeing any stand out stars who could rival Leona Lewis in this year’s batch of finalists.

He said:

“I’m not seeing a Leona there. There’s no-one of her calibre. I don’t know who’s going to sell records outside the UK.”
