Louis Walsh became embroiled in a bit of a row this weekend, due to his part in the Eurovision selection show in his home country of Ireland.
The X Factor judge came under fire from Aslan guitarist Billy McGuinness, who claimed the star should not be involved in the selection process again, after he helped former X Factor contestant Eoghan Quigg with his bid to be involved in the competition and also had links to stunning singer Kasey Smith, who he once chose to appear in ill fated girl group ‘Wonderland’ along with Kian Egan’s wife Jodi Albert.
Billy claimed Louis’ involvement meant that the selection process was “not a level playing field” but his comments riled Walsh, who opened the show saying “I know everybody.”
Former Eurovision singer Linda Martin – who was on the panel too – was also enraged by the fix suggestions and flew at McGuinness on The Late Late Show this weekend, insisting the musician was an “odious little man”. Watch the altercation in the video below…
Meanwhile, X Factor winner Sam Bailey has picked herself up her first award.
The mum of two won the ITV series last year and is preparing to release her debut single and album in just a few week’s time and last night she received a bit of a confidence boost as she was named Breakthrough Female of the Year by the biggest Asian newspaper in Europe, Asian Voice.
The former prison officer took the Christmas number one spot with her charity single SkyScraper and is hoping her debut album, The Power of Love, can achieve the same chart placing when it drops on March 24.
Bailey is currently touring Britain with her X Factor pals and last night she met another smash reality TV star. The 36 year old had a chat with Britain’s Got Talent runner up Susan Boyle and tweeted:
