Louis Walsh will miss tonight’s X Factor show
The X Factor press office have confirmed that Louis Walsh will not appear on tonight’s results show.
Early this morning, Louis found out that Boyzone singer Stephen Gately had died. It is thought that Louis may be flying out to Mallorca where Stephen passed away.
Sara Lee, Head of TV Publicity at Hackford Jones PR, tweeted “To confirm Louis will not be appearing on tonight’s X Factor, he thanks you all for the messages of support at this sad time”
The X Factor press office released a statement saying:
‘Louis Walsh will not be appearing on tonights live The X Factor results show following the tragic sudden death of Stephen Gately. The other judges – Simon, Dannii & Cheryl – will continue with the show in the usual way. Our thoughts are with Stephen’s family and friends at this difficult time.’
The show will start differently tonight as a mark of respect. There will be no big fanfare and arrival of the judges, instead they will already be seated at the judging table. A spokesman for the show said that there would not be any musical tributes to Gately but that Simon Cowell would say something on behalf of his manager, Louis.
