Mel B set to replace Sharon Osbourne on America’s Got Talent?!

It’s been reported today that Spice Girl Mel B is being lined up to replace former X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne on the judging panel of America’s Got Talent.

The Mail Online reports that Mel – who was of course a guest judge on The X Factor UK last year -  is currently negotiating a deal to join the NBC show ahead of the first of this year’s auditions in Los Angeles next month.

A show source said, “Simon [Cowell] loves trying people out on his shows.

“Mel’s already been a judge on X Factor Australia and it’s too far for her to keep taking the kids…

“She did want to do X Factor UK, but Simon really wanted her to do America’s Got Talent.

“She’s outspoken and never afraid to speak her mind, she makes for good TV.

“NBC execs will be watching through their eyes – let’s hope they won’t be using the delay button on live TV.”

Sharon of course quit the show last year after she accused NBC of “discrimination” when they allegedly ditched her son Jack Osbourne – who has Multiple Sclerosis – and the shows he was working on for the network.

She said, “You know I’ve done it for six years, this show is the most fabulous show to work on.

“I have an amazing team of people that I work with, and Simon Cowell who created this is a genius.

“I have worked with him for 10 years, and he’s has been so great to me but it’s just time, you know when your gut tells you, ‘Time to move on and do other things.’

“I do truly love doing the show. If I wasn’t on it I’d still watch it.”

It’s funny how there is always speculation as to which show Mel B will be taking part of next. She isn’t going to be doing The X Factor UK or America’s Got Talent. She is currently under contract with Australia’s Seven Network for another two years which she will continue her roles as co-host of Dancing With The Stars and judge on The X Factor Australia. The only reason why she has moved back to LA is due to visa issues for her to be staying in Australia at the moment. Whilst those are being sorted out she will be flown to and from LA to Sydney for her participation of the two shows.
