Michael Jackson Set For X Factor

Reports are emerging that pop music legend Michael Jackson has agreed to take part in this years X Factor show.

The Sun has reported that the star has been asked to mentor the contestants for one week as they prepare to sing his songs, and then he is to perform on the live show.

This will be the first time we have seen MJ on UK TV since his tell all documentary with Martin Bashir in 2003.

An insider told the newspaper: “We’ve got some huge names but Michael Jackson really is a sensational signing. He is a truly global, worldwide superstar. And this will be his first TV appearance in Britain since the Martin Bashir interview. Given his background with ITV, it’s even more astonishing that he agreed to do it.”

I hope this is a tabloid rumour, as I really have no inclination to see Michael Jackson mutter through a face mask at the terrified X Factor singers. My God they will be nervous enough at the thought of perfoming to millions without having to face Michael.

The newspaper also claims that Girls Aloud, Celine Dion, Rihanna, Kylie, Shayne Ward, Leona Lewis, Westlife and Mariah Carey will be appearing on the show.

I can well believe this now that the age limit has been lowered

If this is true it is a mistake. M J should gracefully accept that his career is over and take a back seat. Irrespective of all the furore over his recent court cases, this man needs to take a rest, afterall he doesn’t need the money does he?
