Niall Horan’s brother has pleaded with One Direction fans not to descend on the town of Mullingar this weekend if his famous brother comes home.
The 1D hunk just returned from his Take Me Home tour dates in Japan and is hoping to get back to Ireland on Saturday for the christening of his new baby nephew Theo.
However, each time the Little Things singer returns to visit his parents and family, thousands of fans turn up to catch a glimpse and things get a bit manic for the Horan family.
We reported last week that if Niall does go home he will be accompanied by extra security guards for his own safety, but his brother Greg has told the Star.ie that he’d rather his son’s baptism wasn’t hijacked by hordes of excited Directioners.
While Horan doesn’t normally mind fans coming to meet his bro, he would like this special family occasion to be private and explained:
“We’re hoping for a low-key christening but we hoped for a low-key wedding and we didn’t get that.”
“Ah, we always welcome the fans to Mullingar, it’s nice to see them travelling all the way to get a photograph with Niall, but we would like to keep Theo’s christening as private as possible.
If Niall does get home it won’t be for very long, as he’ll have to return to London after only one night so he can continue with the promotion of the band’s new album Midnight Memories.
Greg is hoping to grab some quality time with his brother and said:
“We don’t get Niall home very often and when we do we like to spend as much time as we can with him.”
The X Factor star will act as godfather to his baby nephew and Greg admitted that he’s ‘excited’ about the role. However it’s not yet written in stone that he’ll be able to attend the christening, as the singer is still working out his schedule.
“He’s mad about him and he’s excited about coming home to see him,” Greg said.
“It’s very much in the air. We don’t know if the boys have to do more promotional tours for the launch of the album.
“We have the church booked for this weekend anyway and if Niall can’t come we’ll get a family friend to stand in for him, but we’re hoping to have him home.”
“We’re looking forward to it now and it will be nice to have Niall there for Theo’s special day.”
For now though Niall is still in London, making the most of not touring and he tweeted his pal this morning saying:
“@Ashton5SOS give me a shout when ya get to London!”
However it’s going to take him a while to get over the jet lag after a month long trip to Australia and Japan and he added:
“I’m havin the weirdest few days with this jetlag! Weird stuff keeps happening to me!”
” I keep doin stuff and then totally forgettin why I did it”
