Nickelodeon bosses to give One Direction their own show?
Not content with pursuing their record breaking music career, it seems that One Direction could soon become TV stars in their own right too.
Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson recently traveled to America, to record a guest appearance on Nickelodeon show iCarly, alongside Miranda Cosgrove.
Insiders are now reporting that network bosses were so impressed not just by their performance, but also by the reaction the boys got by their thousands of American fans, that they are keen to sign them for their own series.
The X Factor group sang their debut single ‘What makes You Beautiful’ for the special one off episode and the storyline was that harry Styles fell for Carly, while appearing on her web show and then pretended to be ill so he could get some extra attention from the brunette beauty.

A source told Now magazine that industry bigwigs were impressed with the singers’ acting and also the hype that surrounded them and explained:
“Simon [Cowell] has vowed to launch them on the US X Factor, while Nickelodeon are in talks to give them their own show.”
No doubt, One Direction will be holding further talks about the opportunity, when they return to America this month, to start their first ever US tour (check out the dates and venues here).
However Liam, Niall, Zayn and Louis may need to be careful, because it is looking more and more likely that the bosses behind the band may get their wish, after it was reported recently that they want Harry Styles to take over as front man.

I love them, I really do, but I think that if they get their own show, they will just become one of those stars who has their heads up in the sky, rather then their feet on the ground
And about the thing about Harry being the frontman? GOD NOOOOOO! They can seriously split up if that happens

As much as I love One Direction, I would HATE for them to get their own television series, only out of fear that they’ll stop being themselves. The bromances will disappear along with some of the other hilarious but quite cheeky attributes that we’ve loved from the start. I refuse to fangirl alongside 7-10 year olds who will most likely look no deeper into the band than their appearances.
I think personally thy should NOT get their own show…like for example the joas brothers got their own show and Where are they now? they should just stay the way they are(:
I’m picturing something like BTR which I don’t think would be a good idea as it’s too false and scripted. They would also pick up a lot of younger fans who I refuse to fangirl with
Harry as the lead singer = NOOOOOOOOOOO. They would lose so many fans and it would ruin the beautiful bromances in the band

the LAST thing one direction needs is to have to act stupid on a tv show for ten year olds. Pretty much all of their fans are older and they need more respect. They should REALLY just stick to singing and concerts because we all know the producers of nickelodeon are just trying to make money, but they are pushing it too far. Do they even know how many fans were upset that one direction made a GUEST APPEREANCE on icarly? i dont know a fan that wasnt. They CANNOT go through with this. Im pretty sure everyone else is with me.
I don’t think they should do that. The show will be targeted toward a younger audience, because it IS Nickelodeon. The way I see these guys go on in interviews and the like, there’s NO way they’d be suitable for a show on a kids network. And that’s a good thing. They’re not children, and don’t need that sort of stigma. It can be detrimental to them when parents discover they’re not as pure as portrayed.
Also sticking Harry in the front? That’s a blatant lie saying that’s how Americans recognize groups. Anyone with sense, that is, recognizes the entire group, not just one person. One person isn’t the only talent.

First off as an American directioner, you should not blame all Americans. Only blame Nickeloden! I personally don’t like Nick either. I don’t think they should have a show because the show is gonna be rated PG, which their interviews arn’t even close to being PG. Plus, it would be two similar shows (BTR-which I have never seen because I don’t like Nick) on one channel. And it will be scripted, which will make it less funny because they are being told to say thing that are supposed to be “funny” not like the Video Diarys that are coming right from them (not scripted). Also Harry shound NOT be the frontman. They should all be treated equal. *At the beginning of this I didn’t mean for it to sound rude. I just wanted people to know its not all Americans.*

I don’t see what the problem would be if the boys did get their own tv show? They should give it a chance and it would also give them so much publicity which would be amazing for them! It may work for them, or it may not. Either way all of us directioners should be supporting them!
And for Harry being frontman, that should NOT HAPPEN. That would completely ruin the entire outlook of the band and mess up so many things! On the X Factor, Simon put them together for a reason, because they didn’t get by as solos! Nickalodeon’s trying to make them into another Big Time Rush, when both bands are completely different and have different views and such. Keep them both original, it’s NOT Nickalodeon’s band for god sakes! The should all be treated 100% equal. AS for the show, they should definetely try it!
Oh god no c’mon I mean I have nothing against them but really!!!! Y c’mon we have big time rush already I don’t want another boy band. Its going to start problems. Y!!!!!! Even though I think btr is a whole lot better, they cannot invade our rusher moments. Nick is all about btr not one direction.
I love love LOVE One Direction with all my heart! But im afraid if there on Nick all these little kids will like them. I dont want them to be like BTR. If i were to go to school in a BTR shirt. I would look Imature. And dont want it to be like that for 1. Of course I have no problem with BTR but… younger kids like them not middle and High School girls.. But no matter what happens i will always love them, even if it means having the same shirt as a 8 year old.:)

Noo please no i love the boys so much but a television series really? NO that would not ruin them it would even be great publicity but it wouldn’t be one direction! they’re cheeky perverted charming inappropriate personalities will be gone as soon as it airs one direction being scripted is the worst idea that anyone has ever come up with f off nick the boys are not for your taking. And little girls wont even understand their humor or inside jokes and reruns of one direction get real i mean who can honestly say their 100% comfortable with this idea all its going to do is get the boys in trouble. <3 love the boys with all my heart

Noooooo!!!! they cant do this, having a series on Nick will ruin everything for them. They wont be allowed to do anything wrong, and keep a clean image all the time in order to keep the young girl fanbase they will get from Nick .They’ll become just like those other Nick shows that after two seasons are forgotten about. And most of all, they absolutly cannont make Harry the lead singer, that can cause major issues between the band members and can cause them to break up…. Im not claiming I know whats right for the band, but surpy if they do this it will cause a few problems.
