Nicole Scherzinger was recently announced as a judge on the X Factor UK, despite having recently been dropped from the panel of the American version of the talent show. However, she has insisted that she wasn’t sacked.

Simon Cowell announced that the Pussycat Dolls star, along with Paula Abdul and presenter Steve Jones would not be returning for the second series of the US hit, but in a new interview, Nicole has insisted that she only ever intended to judge on one season.

At her first outing as a permanent panelist in Newcastle yesterday, the brunette beauty told The Daily Star that she was simply moved to the British series, rather than being sacked and explained:

“I didn’t get the boot, I was only meant to do the one season.

“Now the UK has me. It’s perfect, they’re going to get all of me.

“That’s why Simon brought me here.”

The singer, actress and dancer also revealed that she plans to show more commitment to her new job and to her contestants this year, than her predecessor kelly Rowland did in 2011.

Kelly caused controversy last year, as she jetted back and forward between the UK and US, and was often accused of not spending enough time with or giving enough attention to her singers.

Scherzinger insists that she won’t be making the same mistakes and said:

“The most important thing is that we commit our time to our contestants and mentor them.

“I know that’s what I am going to do.”

She continued:

“I’m going to do the exact same thing as I did on the US show.

“All I can do is be honest, give it everything I’ve got and bring out the best I can in the artists.”

Nicole looked stunning as she stepped out at yesterday’s tryouts, modelling s stunning and flattering green dress. So far, it seems as though the audience has reacted positively towards her too, which must be a weight off Simon Cowell’s mind.
